Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Kind of. We dont need to sell players for above what we paid for PSR.

For PSR we need to sell for above their book value at that time.

Not in the case of Augustin.

They were taken to court by both club and player based on the contracts which they signed.

My point was regarding the contracts and I was asking if Hammond and Kinnear were the same two chaps who were doing those two contracts.

Have a google, its shambolic.

Precisely. I also liked the player.

I'm not sure the contract was the issue. They signed a dud, a player who has been reported as being a bit work shy when there, and they decided there was some loophole that could avoid them having to honour the contract.

The contract was just a contract. They 'bought' a dud and decided to try and use a snide tactic to avoid having to honour it. But yeah, ultimately shambolic as they ended up paying for a player they didn't even own, but again, the problem wasn't with the contract, it was because they wouldn't take it on the chin and just accept that they'd bought a dud.

Story today that Brighton are willing to sell Ferguson for £28m and us and Forrest are interested. I am not sure about him at that price. I would take him on loan, but I just dont see us paying money for him. Maybe a year long loan with an agreed option to buy.

Just gonna pop this in here, save the 6358 forum members (including myself) the trouble of finding it again when we want to post it in the Barry thread.

His stock has never been lower, and there’s rumours that his attitude is the biggest barrier to his progress. Looked a serious player when he first turned up. Loan with an option would be worth the risk for me, if anyone can coax it out of him it’s Moyes.

Whilst technically every single transfer is in some way a bit of a gamble, because you never know if the players is going to settle, or have the right attitude or even integrate with their new team mates, I feel we can’t afford to take gambles on the likes of Evan Ferguson.

I'm very sure about him at that price. A huge no. He is too much of a risk now, and I wouldn't have him on loan either.

Let Brighton with their much-vaunted system figure out what to do with him. There was some talk of Celtic.

I think the issue was entirely the contract.

Tend to agree with you mate. Aren't there some off the pitch red flags about him though ?
