Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think Moyes will want to fill the RB, CM & Striker position before pre Season. he knows the importance of settling players in, we cant have another poor start to the season.

I imagine the last few days of window will be last minute loans and panic buys
Personally I'd be fine with Jake starting RB it wouldnt be a priority for me. A CM and a RW would be what I'd be going early for.

That still entirely depends on the specific player and their role though.

The Gana situation is a no brainer - for the here and now he's really important to the team, even though there will be virtually zero financial return for us over his second stint & subsequent new contracts.

Then you have your Yousef Chermiti's, who we'll no doubt be looking to turn over at a higher fee than what we paid Sporting for him, despite his lack of playing time. We did the same with Moise Kean and others.

Kind of. We dont need to sell players for above what we paid for PSR.

For PSR we need to sell for above their book value at that time.

Kinnear, as the CEO, shouldn't have a say on which players a club targets. That should be the responsibility of the recruitment dep't and/or the manager, depending on the model. As CEO he's meant to get the entire business running smoothly, you can't be giving him credit or stick for signings - it'd be like crediting Keith Wyness for us signing Mikel Arteta

Not in the case of Augustin.

They were taken to court by both club and player based on the contracts which they signed.

My point was regarding the contracts and I was asking if Hammond and Kinnear were the same two chaps who were doing those two contracts.

Have a google, its shambolic.

I think people are missing the point that was being made to be honest. He was getting stick for signing Augustin, a player they spent about £20m on but who they never actually owned. The point was that it was a bad deal, not that he was a bad player.

Precisely. I also liked the player.

We’re nearly at the stage of Everton fans approaching random black guys for photos.

Just gonna pop this in here, save the 6358 forum members (including myself) the trouble of finding it again when we want to post it in the Barry thread.

I'd see most of our business being done nearer the end of the window tbh. Looking at our starting 11 as it stands it's mostly how we finished the season, solid enough with Alcaraz coming in for Duke. If we can get 2 or 3 bits of quality in that'll help us kick on but mostly looking for good squad players. No europe so dont need a massive squad just build sensibly.

We need to have at least half of our business done in July in my opinion. 4 from 8 signings or thereabouts.

I don't think we can start the season with just a couple of new faces and sit on things until the last week.

The period between the beginning of the season and the end of the window tends to be very unproductive for transfers and everything tends to be pushed to the last day/couple of days.

That's fine for loan deals when clubs are finalising who they need and don't need but not for any other business.

Clubs can smell panic and they raise fees accordingly. It also leads to otherwise prudent judgement being abandoned in some cases.

They need to be active in the next 4-5 weeks to the fullest extent possible.
