Confirmed Signing Thierno Barry

Is it too much to ask for a CF to be able to control a ball. Him nor Beto can. It’s criminal really.

He can’t be our main target surely, he’s no where near ready to lead the line for a premier league side.

Really can’t be arsed watching players who can’t control a ball being paid ridiculous money. It’s one of the first things you learn as a footballer.

Do people realise a 31 year old Ayoze Perez (the one who wasn’t good enough for a [Poor language removed] Newcastle side) bagged more than him in the same side last year…
He's the next Bernie Wright after endless other Bernie Wrights we have had since then

Lukaku struggled holding the ball up, Beto struggles holding the ball up. Strengths were turning and running onto a good through ball and actually scoring. Maybe we should concentrate more on moving the ball up the pitch collectively rather than lumping. DCL could hold the ball up but lacked finishing touch or reading a through ball. Rather have a scorer than a hold up player, a mixture would probably cost us another 20m or so.

In 2017-18 Iago Aspos outscored Antoine Griezman that year and the following

Isak got 9 goals in 37 in his first La Liga season

Go throw £40m at Woltemade ffs, if we can get this lad in as well we should be selling Beto if we can get close to £20m and sell Chermiti for anything north of £5m.
Our strike force needs a complete revamp.
He’s going to Bayern for over €60m. We were never getting anywhere near this lad.

In Beto we have the certainty of low double figures. We cannot sell him and just hope Woltemade or other from abroad will hit the ground running. Beto is a good safe bet for the time being. Woltemade seems more of a player that plays behind a striker

He's young though. A young striker being outscored by a senior teammate is nothing unusual. They key thing is that he has the potential to grow into a much better player than the senior pro.

For example, Rooney (the best we've ever seen at that age) scored fewer goals than Tomasz Radzinski in Rooney's debut season. And Rooney played more games. Granted, Rooney was only 16, but you get the point. Radzinski wasn't fit to lace Rooney's boots, even at that stage.

Also, factor in playing styles etc. Perez is much more suited to La Liga than the PL, and I would argue that Barry is much more suited to the PL than La Liga.

I don't think we can say there's a certainty of Beto getting double figures at all. You'd hope so obviously, and his record last season suggested it's a distinct possibility, but it's a long way from a certainty. He certainly wouldn't be the first player to have a good run of form that isn't sustained in the longer term.

My first thought was that he could be heading on holiday, but he probably would not have deleted the post had he just been going on holiday. If there is a deal to be done, he could well be sorting out his transfer and then going on holiday before pre-season commences.
Maybe he’s deleted the post because he’s realised he’s now being stalked by unhinged psychopaths who might be waiting in his destination airport when he just wants to unwind from a long season?
