So reads like it’s about their inaction in allowing the circumstances around Letby’s convictions to occur or go unchallenged…… no effect on her convictions at present.

Yeah that was my initial thought and then confirmed from reading the press release . Safe to say it’s all a bit of a mess from the hospitals point of view .

If we take the initial reports of inaction at face value then this does seem a logical , all be it delayed , development.

It’s mad how far the Countess of Chester has fallen.

It used to be seen as an elite hospital and to work there was almost a must have on your CV.

Imo it also muddies the waters around the strength of her convictions, essentially the management team may well have been negligent in this, so what else were they capable (or incapable) of…..

I think you’d have to see the evidence really , if you’re building the case on their failure to remove letby then I’d assume her ‘guilt ‘ would be a major plank of the prosecution case . That isn’t to say that stuff that comes wouldn’t assist her ,imo we just don’t know .

You’re not wrong there that’s for sure but these arrests aren’t on that basis are they ? They seem More that a member of staff was so dangerous they should have spotted it.

With those arrests yesterday her appeals process continuing and talk today of more charges for letby , it feels like there is a lot more to play out on this whole thing .

What happened yesterday is because the PPS case against Letby is disintegrating fast and the coppers are trying to shore it up with more arrests over the same 'crimes'.

It's desperate stuff. The bitter end of a case that's been a classic multi-institutional stitch up in an attempt to make an employee carry the can for their failings.

The noose isn't tightening round Letby's neck, it's tightening around her accusers'.

These arrests are as a result of them failing to stop her and looking the other way to protect their own careers, when presented with evidence of what she was up to, not the other way around.

I am sure there is much more to come out, from the nhs and even the police/cps investigation side of things.

Have to say it feels like the authorities have prejudged or listened to the nhs management team (who have it appears scapegoated their employee) and haven’t really investigated Letby or the various tragic deaths fully, many that occurred when letby wasn’t even working, as they thought they had such a slam dunk case.

Ineptitude on a tragic scale.

Really feel for the poor families who have lost children, seeing this mess be unravel.

It must be heartbreaking, when will they get some peace?

Same, my brother lost his very young son a while ago, i can't even imagine how that felt, imagine losing an infant. Unfathomable tragedy.

The horrendous thing is that the coppers and PPS know that Letby didn't do it and are doing the parents of those poor babies who died a disservice by keeping them in limbo.

The hospital trust is to blame for those deaths.

The horrendous thing is that the coppers and PPS know that Letby didn't do it

Perhaps more accurate to say that they (must) know that they cannot be sure that she did it?
