Worst post ever! The Kinks headlined the first worthy farm festival and are considered a political band. Glasto has been political since it became a regular event in the 80's

What you are basically saying is you don't like THIS kind of politics (calling out genocide)
The amount of clowns who seem to be saying saying this as if punk isn’t inherently political and leftist is painful.

Idiots probably also think Rage Against the Machine are apolitical

In regards (again) to Bob Vylan, I think it’s more the selective outrage that’s the big issue for me.

They’ve always been very outspoken and controversial, the fact that it’s the IDF shout that’s the ‘line’ says a lot.

Especially considering in the same set they played their track ‘wicked and bad’ (a track they also played live in the BBC studio during last years coverage) which contains the line:
Let's go dig up Maggie's grave and ask her where that milk went
Down to storm those Downing doors, run inside and kill them
Eat the rich, eat the rich before they turn and eat your children
England's ending, death's still pending, burn those f**ing buildings

Not a peep from anyone though.

It’s quite something when the state and it’s broadcaster are more outraged about an on stage chant than an actual genocide taking place.
Tune that, btw

Amazing that all information is literally propaganda from Israel and people buy into it so much that they defend it as their truth. Literally look at a map from 40 years ago of the two countries and look at one today, yet the bad guys are the one that's been all but eradicated? It's frightening at this point.

The extent this country (America isn't a surprise) is clamping down on anything pro Palestinian at this point , we will look back in history and be labelled as complicit to genocide, to eradication of an entire country. Guys like kneecap and bob calling for action against it, will be signs that people didn't agree with this. In the here and now though they will be treated worse than a nonce because the west are now puppets

I am looking forward to the trial of Mo Chara, it will be extremely interesting to see how his defence will play out. We live in a country where terrorist flags and emblems are on display every day. Today on my way to and from work I passed through a village where there were UVF flags hanging from lampposts. I wasn’t offended in the least, my work often takes me into South Armagh where there are numerous examples of flags, emblems etc. to the IRA and ILNA again these cause me no offence. This is not because these flags and emblems are not offensive but because they are so commonplace that they are now part of the tapestry of life in Northern Ireland. Government nor the PSNI take any action against these symbols, they have become normalised in our abnormal society. To then prosecute a young man who has only known the display of terrorist emblems without consequences for having such an emblem, albeit one which is emblematic of a terrorist of a different hue, seems somewhat perverse.

It's already passed the 6 month statute of limitations so it'll be thrown out on that technicality, but the purpose of the allegation has been relatively successful in that the IDF have cover to continue the slaughter.

You have to laugh at the lazy stereotyping of Kneecap without even the slightest thought to the absolute pisstake they have with the identity they use.

It's a good point. It just underlines that this country's government have no real jurisdiction over what happens across the Irish Sea whereas they do over this side, and they'll apply their laws accordingly.

There's no chance they would have authorised the charge against him if that was the case.

To illustrate your valid point even further, check out the link below. The Police are now facilitating the hate crime of burning flags rather than enforce the law or indeed common sense. This would never be tolerated in any English city. It’s mad that potentially cutting the electricity supply to a hospital all while igniting a burning pyre close to an asbestos site is tolerated to protect a sectarian hate fest.

Both them and Bob Vylan are currently 'Schrodinger's Terrorist sympathisers.'
Where in the minds of their detractors, they are simultaneously enacting performative outrage to boost their popularity, but also dangerous counter-culture types demanding their fans kill people.

Saw a podcast with Blindboy recently (The Irish loony comedian who wears a shrink wrapped carrier bag on his head) talking about this. In particular about the performative nature of art, even if your message is genuine and how music is the only one the authorities take literally.

He mentioned Ice T's rock project 'Body Count' and their song 'Cop Killer' recorded after the Rodney King tape an the resulting kick off.
And how if Ice T had written a short story on the same topic or directed a short play, people would consider it 'art' - yet music seems to absolutely terrify those in power.
