2024/25 Michael Vincent Keane

Then what's he still doing at the club. If we don't have players in the Under 21 squad that are good enough to spend most of the time sitting on the first team bench we might as well save some money and bin off the whole set up. If we are prepared to give a new contract to a player nobody else wants just because he's happy to sit on the bench it speaks volumes about Moyes and our new owners.

Thought to myself when I saw the news mate, we might have someone a year or two off and makes more sense to hang onto to Keane in the short term rather then to block the pathway by brining in a 28 year old for money.

Don’t know for sure, just a possible hypothesis.

Dont think he is crap is just average really can have good games and when makes a mistake his head goes. Also anyone saying the u21 none of them ready to be 4th choice campbell welch tamen ect. Then have think what is out in the market who would come in to be 4th choice. Has shown he can come in and do a job against fulham and newcastle. Is not a long term option but prob give him another deal being one year with an option. You would think cb would be a position getting looked at during the season. So we can start planning for the future

Our Dads Army side will remain - goodbye DM ......

Only hope is we offer him a year on vastly reduced terms…he’s 32. So he’ll prob be looking for 2 years minimum.

So he may well turn down the contract in the same way Young/Doucoure left as they felt they could get better terms.

Although surely you’d rather go & play somewhere even in high end of championship than be sat on bench for most games.

I really can't get my head around why we are even contemplating rewarding Keane with a 1 year deal!
No one has come in and bought him on a free, which speaks volumes!
His performances aren't good enough and i'd sooner buy someone who is going to be pushing for a starting place than be happy to sit on the bench!

Name one player who fits that bill, and explain how you'd fill the other 9 empty seats.
