2024/25 Michael Vincent Keane

Bit silly logic that - Doucure scored the goal that kept us up - he was dropped for half that season. Thats neither here nor there.

Look, this is savvy squad management - its why we offered Godfrey a deal last year, you can give someone 4 mill a year or you can take on 8 mill a year and double your cost for a 4th choice center backs - there may be summer that that might be reasonable, this summer we can do without it.

If we want to hit pritirites this is one of the compromises that needs to be made.

Ill actually be surprised if he signs a new deal to be honest, ill be surprised if he doesn't get a better offer.
The "savvy squad management team" should be forced to watch the first five games of last season.

All that has to happen is we have one CD that's injured, and another has a problem during the match, and boom, he's conceding.

You people are nuts.
And that's not ideal, obviously. But when you realise that the same thing will apply to the bog standard player we sign on a free to replace him, you realise it's not actually a very big deal.

I just don't understand it from Keanes side, he's 32 and 4th choice, surely he'd want to go and play somewhere regularly for 2/3 years

from our side it saves us from having to spend money on a 4th choice this summer, he'll be replaced next summer

He's already played 400 games in his career, it wouldn't be that surprising if he doesn't feel the need to go and play another 100 at a lower level just for the sake of it.

Surely a footballer wants to play games in the last couple of years of his career
