Anyone read Duncs book yet?

Went to see an Dunc tonight and if half of what he says is true and not dramatised, then it’s a real eye opener.

I’ve never heard of any of tonight’s stories in recent podcasts.

I believe him over some of the people at the club and have no reason to doubt any of his stories.

Thank God the previous chairmen have all gone, hopefully we will thrive with TFG at the hickory Dickory Dock stadium.

Part way through the audiobook to fill in time of lots of boring flights at the minute.
He was never a favourite of mine, and so far it’s not changed my opinion.
Several times I’ve had to double-check that it is about Duncan and not Jim McClean and Duncan’s dad.
I’ll persevere with it as it whiles away the mind-numbing boredom of constant flying.

Does he not like Baines or Cahill then?
There were just a couple of bits. One when Cahill was in the offices in London when Dunc was getting interviewed for the job, he thought that was strange. And he says about Baines chirping off to the players getting above his station in the dressing room. I might have read more into it, just how I thought it came across.

Just finished it. Decent read. Don’t understand the reason he was so angry at Moyes first time around. He had earlier wrote he went to Moyes the previous Christmas saying he was packing it in. Then he seemed angry that Moyes hadn’t told him he was releasing him. Love dunc though. Hope it makes him a few quid.

Almost finished the audio book, one more walk and i'll be done.

He thinks a lot of himself doesn't he!!
Yes.

It's faction.

About 50% is fiction, 50% fact.

Henry Winter must have been rolling his eyes transcribing the tapes he got from Ferguson.

I suppose when a player's career has been a huge failure then you turn to making stuff up to fill a book out. And obviously recounting stories about being a thug only goes so far.

Shut up for gods sake you miserable arl arse you're derailing every thread with your bollocks and people are tired of it.

I am halfway through the audio book and I can honestly say I have changed my opinion of Dunc and not in a positive way either.

He certainly thinks a lot of himself, he was all about how much he could get out of Everton, eg when he was most loved by all the fans when he 1st came down from Scotland after his troubled start to football, he said he found a place in were he was worshiped and still he tried to screw the club for as much money as he could, he wanted to be the highest paid player at the club and was not signing until he was. (hasn't DCL wanted a good deal for him and his family, but has been slated and is not a cult hero, and yet very similar records at the club)

it also sounds like he totally ruined the FA cup winners party with his 40 odd mates that he invited in, as all the other players had to drag their wives away from him in his kilt.

He said he didn't mix with other team mates at the time, I could see why, they probably thought he was a K%£b.

There are other things that have made me think he was not all that, yes he scored the goals v Liverpool and united, but also goes onto say he couldn't be bothered to get up for a friendly scotland game when plaing for them (very arrogant if you ask me) and that goes for his management aswell he doesn't have the knowledge or know how to become a manager so the shouts for him to become manager here some day forget it.

To me he has gone down in my opinion, not a great player or icon for the club, certainly can't be spoken as a legend that's for certain

Feller's an absolute spoof ripping off Evertonians.

….after having the cushy number of strutting around FF for years he’s now become a professional Evertonian, it’s his income source and he exploits it.

I was on holiday and noticed somebody had left his book in the hotel ‘library’ but I wasn’t in the least tempted to read it, not even for free. Never warmed to the player, never warmed to the man.

I feel it’s such a shame seeing him pictured on banners as an ‘Everton Legend’ when there are much more deserving cases.

He just sounds like a bloke with an incredibly short fuse and temper which is his natural state and always will be. Not surprising given the way his father was and how he was brought up. Explains why the tiniest thing can send him over the edge and did throughout his football career.

Thought most of it was interesting and a decent read. He does think highly of himself as a player and a coach but I think some of the coaching stuff he's read a bit too much into what the people have said which has given him that belief. I don't think Ancelotti rated him that highly as a coach aside from the man management/best mate vibe he gives off with players which Ancelotti will of course pick up on because he's always been seen as one of the management gods in terms of man management. Also funny when he speaks about players he recommended / told us not to sign as if he's a messiah in terms of recruitment. It's obviously playing up to everything he may have got right and will leave out the parts where he hasn't.

Still a cult hero for me though.

He's a fake who impresses the gullible.

Always was and always will be.

He'll surf comfortably into retirement on that wave gullibility too.
