Sell the council housing stock on the cheap to win votes from low income families. Sell British Gas, British Steel, British Telecom, et al, on the cheap to the Tory voters.

Nah, we can't do that Maggie got there years ago.
 

Its imposible if you tell the truth, people don't want to pay for it, the powers that be have made the vast majority of the population selfish.so glad im not starting out as a young man anymore, the worlds gone mad.

Perhaps we could sell our gold reserves…oh no wait.

Anyway I’m glad you think that the five I mentioned are doing an absolutely fantastic job, while we await the next U turn and cave in, new taxes, the opening after the closure of the North Sea oil and gas, and the give away of some other strategically important islands at great cost……

You are comparing selling some of the gold reserves in 2009 to selling off social housing and privatising all of the countries national assets?

With the politics forum not been a thing for a while I’d actually forgotten what a prize bell you are.

Also, it's of note, there was an awful lot of iranian gold being sat on by the british government (something like 40 years it'd been tied up) and eventually it was bought for a rate (not it's true price) and suddenly the coffers at bank hq had been reinvigorated. IIRC.

And your comments confirm why the CA was closed. Constant insults and a complete ignorance of what this woeful government is doing to pensioners, farmers, businesses large and small and employment andthe economy in general. Unless of course you think they are doing a great job…do you honestly think they are ?………
