He makes it sound truly dystopian. One thing Jurgen Klopp might say to him is what the hell do you know about it mate? This bloke doesn't need to deal with the effect on players. You can't just skip over obviously legitimate arguments about the amount of football that keeps getting added because money. Guardiola will become stressed again when his players are playing their hundredth game of the season or whatever.

From the point of view of a fan of one of the have nots, watching your team get swallowed up in these arguments, having some of the football you love taken away while the bigger teams get millions of pounds just for turning up in odious tournaments like this, is excruciating. And Sky are supposed to argue for those fans as well.

Keep turning up the heat on ways fans can't attend games and pushing them into subscriptions to follow their club.

Been at it 30 yrs now, little by little, season by season, the game we love has become a soap opera we have to subscribe to.

I know what's next. Domestic shirt sponsorship, and then European competition sponsors, and then CWC shirt sponsors. How long before an obviously saudi owned team builds a second home ground out in Dubai or similar?

Has a PL side ever played more games in the other time schedules (collectively) than the 3pm Saturday slot in a season?
