Without question the most toxic fanbase in the world, if he played for Liverpool he would have been supported.

You get the team you deserve.

How can you support a striker who has just scored 3 league goals in 26 appearances? It's just not good enough Goat. I've backed him in the past because he has a lot of attributes I like, but if he can't even weigh in with 10 goals a season then what's the point?

Sometimes I’ve watched him and thought he looked our best striker. But too many other times he has shown he will never be a clinical striker. One on one I expected him to miss more often than he scored! And he is injury prone and wanting bigger wages than most of our squad. Time to let him leave

Hahaha, don’t pretend they wouldn’t have binned him off at the first whiff of £60M, 2-3 seasons ago.

He’d be in Saudi now terrified that his previous wardrobe choices might be held against him by the secret police.

Are you really asking an EVERTON fan, why they would support an EVERTON player?

This is the problem, I support him by default.

He scored 29 goals in 18 months under a manager who played to his strengths.

No, I get that, and if for some reason he stays, you won't find me on here giving him pelters. I just don't think he's good enough Goat. I'm allowed that opinion aren't I?

That was 4 years ago. 4 years ago. Since then he's scored 17 league goals.

If he stayed we wouldn’t need a new striker and the limited funds could be better spent elsewhere at the moment. He’d be good to bring off the bench if we were holding on to a lead last 15 mins.

DCL has had a rough time in recent seasons. Injuries didn’t help and having Dyche as manager would finish any striker off. He is a decent player when all is right, fitness, confidence and used to his strengths. I wouldn’t be disappointed if he stayed, on realistic terms.

Yes, he has had a rough time, no question. One particular injury was very nasty. However, it's part of the game isn't it? There's a million players out there who were boss for a bit and now they're not. It's irrelevant how or why, they're either good enough to play at this level or they're not. A footballer has to do 2 things; stay fit, and perform at a standard deemed acceptable. If they can't do those two things then clubs all over the world will have no qualms about moving them on, hard luck story or not.
