I think losing him on a free is a real shame, whatever your stance on him it’s hard to argue that he isn’t a player who would have commanded a pretty decent fee and so getting nothing isn’t great.

He’s at the very least a competent centre forward at this level so I’d have no issue if he stayed, but either way we need to be adding to the firepower up there and not relying on him.

Been a fine servant for the club, but I feel we must move on and so should he in my opinion. Cost us next to nothing in a transfer fee but last 3 years has been injured more than not, cost us nothing and we will get nothing for him, about fair.

Big wages, poor fitness record, seems to have lost some of his aggression. I think it's better for all parties if he moves on. I wish him well and hope a change of club is the catalyst he needs to kick on.

I think it’s time because he probably thinks it’s time.

I think Moyes could get the best out of him, we’ve not really had the chance to find out.

But I certainly wouldn’t begrudge the lad a fresh start, he’s had some very tough times at Everton and unfortunately hasn’t been able to fall back on universal support from the fanbase.

I don’t want him reluctantly signing back on with us, I want players who are sure they want to be here.

It’s time for him to go. It’s a shame, he’s been ruined by a number of managers, carlo aside. His confidence is shot- he needs to rebuild elsewhere and enjoy his football - at which point he will remind us all how good he can be

We’ve had 8 years to get a decent fee for him and as it happens absolutely nobody ever bid.

So are you suggesting they at no point in his career has his value been higher than zero? Even for you that’s a bit stupid Mike.

If you maybe read it again, but a little slower this time, you’ll spot what I actually said. That nobody has ever bid for him.
