2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

We need more players from the North East, they're loyal as fhluk.
Our two greatest managers both hailed from the North East too. Maybe, just maybe, if one North East player were to take charge in the future, we could return to the summit.

However, as another poster has noted, Branthwaite is from Carlisle. Yet I still agree with your point.

I know the window is young and this may come across as hyperbole, but if we manage to get Jarrad to sign on terms that suit both parties long term, you're going to struggle to find a better piece of business this summer across all clubs in the league. I've come to that conclusion when weighing up what he offers us on the pitch. Just look at what's likely to happen to Brentford if they can't do the same with Mbeumo, Bournemouth have lost half their defence, Burnley have lost one of their solid CBs, etc.

All of that mate, but id also draw peoples mind back to Rom. First thing Moshiri did was sell Rom brought £80 odd million into the club and let that fund a spending spree to make it look like he was investing.

It would be very very easy for the TFG to sell Branthwaite bring £80 mill into the club and let if fund the massive amount of work that needs to be done in the summer. Not going to lie i was almost 95% convinced that was going to happen - as its the glaringly obvious thing to do to recover the club easily. Im really surprised he is staying.

What that means for me, these lids are interested in progressing this club on the pitch, they don't want to be a feeder club to Villa, Newcastle or Spurs, they are managing their assets properly and are prepared to invest into the club and not dilute the quality even if their are easier ways of player trading.

The work to recover the reputation of this club begins.
An excellent point.

I'll be honest - I expected us to keep him. Maybe I have more faith in these guys. Their Roma experience - which wasn't perfect but is indicative of their ambition - tells me they are serious owners with ambition and vision.

But you are spot on about the Mosh/Kenwright regime: snake oil salesmen in the theatrical style.

The rs getting insane money for that donkey quansah shows what we already knew - JB is going to be one of the best the country has seen and is easily a £100 mill plus cb.

Thank Christ we ain’t got moshiri or kenwright to accept the lowball offers anymore.

If he was any good they wouldn't be selling him mate.

That Tuchel is a plumb.

I'm fairly certain he doesn't watch PL football beyond clubs in the CL.

It could go the other way and teams use Quansah as the benchmark for young English defenders, especially since he was part of their title winning squad and is now playing for England.

Jarrod has neither of them things in his favour. We all know he’s better the player, but these will be arguments when it comes to negotiations
