Castore - get rid?

It’s one of those head-scratching days for me.
Imagine your a sportswear manufacturer and you’ve got a supply contract with a football club with two significant milestones back-to-back - last season at their historic home, and first season in a new stadium. You’d be looking to smash it out the park, wouldn’t you?
Or are you the person at the club who signs off on this?
Hell, even Port Vale managed to get an immaculate kit this season!

Outside of this forum, it seems well received.

Feel people moan for the sake of moaning. Its fine, there's only so much you can do with Blue.

What you perceive to be "smash it out the park", others may perceive to be naff. The joys of opinion.

While I don't want it to be a permanent change, I do like them going with blue socks now and again.

Underlines this one is a tribute to the 87 kit.
The white socks thing is a pretty new phenomenon to be honest, it's not like that's traditionally how our kits have been. I'd guess the recent run of kits over the last 10 years or so is probably the longest period we've ever had white socks for.

Anyone know why only the goalkeeper socks are online. Can’t see the kids kit.

Annoys me they don’t do the goalkeeper infant kits. My lads six, he’s obsessed with Pickford, as are a few of his mates.

It’s madness when he’s our biggest name.

I'm not a big fan of that kit.
I like the wave concept, but not the design.

The colour seems darker which I like, and I must admit to being a fan of blue socks with white shorts.

They haven't released the keeper kit have they? It's not in any of the pictures or videos.

Yeah it’s on there, so not sure why isn’t on sale.
This was in the announcement article so it would seem they have had supply issues. Clearly aiming to get it online today buy maybe the issues were worse than they thought.

"Goalkeeper kits will only be available online immediately. The full goalkeeping range will be available in-store next week at both Everton One and Everton Two."

I like it.

Looks like a mix of the 87 and 89/90 kits and yes...blue socks.

Watched the release video. Is there a dash of irony in the shots of the shirt underwater and emerging wet from the metaphorical Mersey after the trouble Castore got into a few years back with Villa about their shirt retaining water?

I agree the price is silly, but the price of everything is silly these days, I'd love to know how much of these increases is actual inflation and how much is just greed.

The material costs to make these, as with almost all clothing, are the lowest they've ever been.

From what I've read, football shirts cost an average of £8 to make. Based on an £80 shirt, the retailer and manufacturer make around £30 each per shirt. Rest is other costs.

About £4 goes direct to the club unless it's also the retailer.

So make that what you will. Castore make £30 per shirt I believe.
