Last Film You Watched

The Conversation - So good you can forgive the fact that the twist uses a bit of a cheat. But the plot is really second to the characters. Really good seeing Hackman as a really uptight isolated character wrestling with his conscience. Also has the ultimate accolade a film can have - John Cazale in the cast.

Mad Max 2 - Dog buddy, boomerang high jinks and a big bad with a surprisingly progressive attitude to one of his main henchmen riding round in arseless chaps with a twink on the back of his bike. Might just be the perfect post apocalyptic 80s action flick.

Island Of Terror - Boneless corpses start turning up on a small island somewhere off the coast of Ireland so Peter Cushing, someone else from that there London and a token damsel in distress come to the rescue. Pretty run of the mill mid 60s British horror/sci fi with little to recommend.

Lifeforce - If a blend of Tobe Hooper, Cannon films, sexy space alien bat vampires, an often naked 1985 Mathilda May, severe dehydration and Patrick Stewart really screaming sounds like your bag then this is the film for you. Some people would point out it's many flaws - those people are wrong.

Agree with The Conversation, its a smart film. Really very good and interesting film.

Saw F1 today. Feels like it is very much a film for the Drive to Survive generation of F1 fans. The racing scenes look great but I think Romain Grosjean must have been the main advisor on set based on what that action is.

It’s a fun enough film and seeing it in IMAX added to it. Realism definitely took a day off but that is no bad thing sometimes.

In prep for going to watch 28 Years Later, I re watched 28 Weeks Later last night.

It`s many years since I last watched it and I`d forgotten what I truly great horror film it was, with a fantastic cast.

The tension and anxiety that the film builds up, is much worse than the actual horror and some of the camera work is out of this world, especially the scenes when they`re under attack and running at speed.

Just watched the trailer for this with haptic feedback.
Kind want to see the movie, but the haptic bit on the trailer ads nothing except a mild case of vibration white finger.

“There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.”
