2024/25 Seamus Coleman

Just out on a run in Marbella and there he was sitting with the family in a restaurant by the beach. I felt like a proper divvy for interrupting but I had to tell him how much I appreciate what he's done for the club.

You hear about what a nice fella he is but I didn't expect him to invite me over for a chat. Bizarre situation of my hero and his family asking me about life out here as I'm dripping with sweat from running in 30 degree heat. In the process of now taking my wedding photo out the frame and replacing it with the selfie he insisted we take. I shouldn't be carrying on like this at 34 years old but here we are.

That's it - give him a new six-year playing contract.

Jokes aside, he is a fantastic ambassador for the club and hopefully will remain so for years to come. Don't think doing it in a playing capacity is the right thing though... he should oust Stuart and Snods and become Official Club Ambassador on matchdays and ply his coaching trade behind the scenes.

It's like when Mr Burns wants Bart to be his heir, this.
