Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I have similar reservations - that’s not saying he’s not a very talented lad - it’s saying I’m not sure he’s what we need at the moment.

I think for the next couple of seasons at least we’ll continue to be a team that defends quite deep and looks to counter or score from set pieces. We won’t be dominating the ball. Forest have shown that this can be successful.

I’d like a bit of a speedster on the right - although I don’t know who.
I do agree that we need speed for sure, but I’ve come to value end product a lot more. This guy has shown he can score and has a good injury record. I’d take him over Doak 10 times out of 10, personally.

Forest have done will because all their fast players are pretty clinical, we’ve seen how frustrating it is to see players do everything until they need to pull the trigger. McAtee can play across the front three, we can get him in now whilst he’s available and next window look to get a fast, clinical RW and move McAtee to the middle. Sadly we can’t get all of these guys one window (annoying but it is what it is)

It’s not too often a player with his potential becomes available at what seems like a reasonable price. I think we should snag him and plan forward :)

ESPN: Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal worth about £19m with Juventus for both Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula.

Decent bit of business that.
Shows what can be done with a competent management team.
Fingers crossed we can compete by next year.

Just seen that we are 'long term admirers' of Dan James. Christ, I hope not. He's awful. Looked promising as a kid but has not kicked on at all. Like Theo Walcott - bags of pace, no footballing brain and just runs in straight lines.

Seems like nonsense. We can't be "long term admirers" of someone when we have a completely new staff and ownership, top to bottom.

….for all the Gnonto admirers, James was at a different level every time I watched Leeds. I wasn’t a fan at all but there’s no doubt who’s the most effective of the two.
