I don't think anyone really knew who was in charge, which is really the issue.
Certain decisions most definitely had the dabs of Mosh and Bill all over them. They should have steered well clear , and left football matters to the people they employed , and paid , to take them.

That's not a break with the past.

How about leaving the tower stuff behind and having a ship on the new badge?

After all, we're on the river now and z-cars is the tune of the sea shanty the Johnny Todd.

The last time Everton played in Everton was...erm...never, so why have we git that beacon on the badge?
A Ship.....on the badge?

Have you been on the wine gums again?

Dave that sounds atrocious ha.

With the committee structure, the risks are groupthink, no or muddled leadership, and slow / indecisive decision-making.

But those risks are inherent in any group and our "committee" is relatively small.

They do have to be allowed some time and space to develop working relationships with each other even though our need this summer is great.

It would have been much better if this could have been put together months ago but they did have to wait to get their chosen appointments in.

For me it comes down to Kinnear. This seems to be his initiative. You would assume he has formed a view on what will work based on previous experience and emerging trends and he has had senior roles at Leeds, West Ham, and Arsenal.

This structure, and what it delivers or otherwise, is largely on him. He has to provide the leadership, direction, and clarity. It is Moyes that should report to him as the senior executive.

With the flatter structure it would be interesting to know who has the ultimate sign off even if a collaborative consensus was reached within the structure - Kinnear, the board or the owners or a collection of the three.

If decisions are made and don’t work out - who is accountable.

People keep on insisting the relevancy for our badge of a tower in a village/district that the club never ever played a game of football in. At least a ship would have some justification.

Man Utd have the red devils badge along with a ship and City have the red rose of Lancashire along with a ship.

I reckon we have a little bit more right to use a ship on a badge than two teams linked to the sea via a man-made canal that only exists because the Port of Liverpool brought the world's trade to the region.

I have been thinking about the crest which you posted as an option which the club could use in the future.

As indicated in a previous post, I love the 1920s crest (image attached). Whilst it may seem a stretch, I would like to see the EFC lettering from the 1920s crest included on the one which you have posted. It may look off, but it would combine different features of my favourite crests.

Let's leave history behind, and create a new badge...based on the history of the region.
