2024/25 Jake O'Brien

Is Jake going to start before Tarks this year at CB or do we think RB / bench.

Zero points for saying Branthwaite is going

…I think the Tarkowski injury is of major concern, given it required an operation and his age.

Moyes will have been delighted that O’Brien covered just as effectively at CB, not forgetting we didn’t concede at Newcastle with Keane alongside. I reckon Moyes will be perfectly content with Branthwaite/O’Brien, the main concern might be the loss of Tarkowski’s leadership, which could be why we might be looking to bring in a more experienced RB in Tete.

Thankfully (and it's a rare occasion we can say that), Tarkowski being out for a while ought not to have us panicking, so long as a new centre half is brought in for backup to replace Keane. O'Brien and Branthwaite, if we're serious about being JB, is the long-term partnership anyway, so what better way to kick off the season?

Whoever we bring in* at right back this summer I think JOB's earned the right to start the season as first choice, as Moyes is never dropping Tark for him in the middle

*within reason, if Hakimi comes through the door on July 1st I'd probably rethink that one
