2024/25 Jake O'Brien

Love the fella.
The whole dyche thing about him is by a distance the most bizare thing of the season.
He was a "gift" with Mangala from Textor, pumping money into the club when ownership was up for grabs and uncertain.

You could see Dyche's reservations when
Keane was his loyal known go to and Palace's joint owner at the time was in the uncertain mix.

When ownership was resolved and Baines/Coleman gave him his chance at RB Vs Peterborough in the cup, he has shown true quality and been one of our best players in the second half of the season.

What I admire about Jake is he had to take a really difficult start of the season on the chin in a new setting in adverse circumstances and keep his head down and keep working.

Got his opportunity on an unfamiliar role and absolutely took it with both hands and turned himself into a key player in the team - that is outstanding. .

In the last few games he’s earned a place in the centre and has just earned his second clean sheet at centre-back in a week with different partners too.

He’s proving he’s absolutely made of the right stuff and the type of player with fight, spirit and determination we want more of the club.

Well in big man, great season - self made.
