Slightly disappointed that the Roma match is being billed as the third test event and not the Grand Opening of the Stadium etc. Roma themselves are a big club too and it makes sense from an ownership perspective, but to be honest i was hoping for something special, like a legends game (then Everton cant lose!!) or if a European club, one of the absolute biggest in the world like Real Madrid, Barca etc.

I know they need a 3rd test - kind of wish it was more low key then we had a spectacular grand opening event before Brighton.

Isnt the plan to get them in the ground and sell to them in there? Why would we want them scattered around in pubs?

Everton would clearly prefer them to spend all their money inside but for many fans (Home and Away) a drink in a "normal boozer" beforehand is often preferred.

Yeah think I agree with you . You’d think The likes of my generation who for 30 years plus met up in town then returned there after the game for a few beers are probably a lost cause for things they have planned with BMD but plenty of others who’ll take it up I’m sure .

There is no real district there as yet. If Liverpool Waters grows to the extent that it was first proposed then it will feel more central, but that could be several years down the line.... it's also not like Anfield and Goodison aren't already inner city locations and similar walking distances from Lime St for instance. Hence the reason why a fair proportion of away fans already stay over in the city centre.
