2017 with Koeman, Moshiri, Walsh and Kenwright all taking turns picking a signing 🫠

About 200 million was spent in the 17/18 season. So 7/8 years ago. Michael Keane* and Pickford are still here, everybody else signed that season/pre-season left for free apart from Vlasic. Transfermarket reckon we got £23 million for him but I don't remember that; could have sworn we got about 8 million for him. All in all, a disastrous season. The sad thing is, I'm not even sure that was our most wasteful spending of the mosh era.

*possibly not for much longer

Was the last years best business Kone & Soule? Has Ghisolfi made many good signings?

Its certainly strange that they seem to prefer to hire and fire rather than develop and build at Roma.

Are the fans desperate for short term success or happy to be patient while a young team is gradually built?
I think that Roma have been on the cusp of breaking into and establishing themselves amongst the Champions League elite for some years .
It’s certainly where a club of there size should be regularly competing.
They don’t seem to persevere with failure , which is a good sign generally.

Higher, or lower?
Higher. It has to be higher. We have to recruit 8-10 players this summer. If our interest in the likes of Barry and McAtee is genuine [and far more credible sources than Football Insider are claiming it is], our gross spend this summer will be more than £70m. I expect anyone we pay a fee for will be <25 years old and signed up to contracts of 4 years+ to help PSR amortisation.

Only source I've seen reporting this is Football Insider. Time will tell, but I think they are wrong.
Your man Maguire said likely budget of £50mill to £100 mill so footy insider likely just went somewhere in the middle of that estimate.

If our budget is £70mill it makes it unlikely we’d have been looking to lash £30mill on Delap one would think. But who knows.

Unfortunately £50-100 Million ain’t cutting it.

Did they relate this to P&S only?
