Usually technical director has more than that on his plate. Pretty much everyone else except Kinnear obviously would be under Cox. He would oversee recruitment, footballing strategy etc. Or as Ashworth once said, he was the hub connecting all other parts.

The whole point of such org charts is who reports to who and who gives orders to who? If Howarth works on strategy does he work directly with Kinnear, bypassing Cox? But if he is under Cox why would Smith, who's job is very much tied to what Howarth does be directly under Kinnear and not Cox?

Not sure I’d like to work ‘under Cox’

Is the Technical Director role akin to Head of Football Operations? After the appointments of Hammond and Howarth and with James Smith to arrive, that seemed the only position to be filled at this level of seniority.

Also seems with Roma appointing another DoF that the flatter structure is being driven by Kinnear and not TFG. It's decisive leadership early into the job so credit to him for going what what he thinks is the best way forward.

According to the I we are closing in on a Head of Football Operations too (Dave Harrison?). Think technical director takes care of stuff like coaching, academy, medical etc whereas I imagine football operations is the more mundane officey / logistics stuff.

Also shows the autonomy given by TFG to the senior management team mate.

Guess what. Out of the blue, they're firing both the sporting director Ghisolfi and the CEO Vitali.

Everybody is shocked. Not a single clue.

Worst timing ever. They operate more or less like an intelligence agency.

Vitali was an interim CEO, but lately everyone was saying "he's staying". He was the man in charge of the stadium project. He got promoted. His ousting is less surprising.
But ghisolfi...he's said through the season he had rebuilt the scouting department from scratch, he chose Gasperini together with Ranieri. Nobody could think he was going.

Tomorrow is the day of Gasperini's first press conference. And it's likely ghisolfi won't be there. KGB style.

Was the last years best business Kone & Soule? Has Ghisolfi made many good signings?

Its certainly strange that they seem to prefer to hire and fire rather than develop and build at Roma.

Are the fans desperate for short term success or happy to be patient while a young team is gradually built?

According to "business insiders", moyes has a budget of 70 millions...if that's the case, we will be fighting relegation again next season, more so if the likes of gueye leaves the club. They could be wrong and hopefully they are, because the promoted sides will be spending more than that.

Did we fight relegation last season? Must have missed that. Who are these business insiders?

I wouldn’t say you’re wrong but we already have ( had?) a Head of Football Operations/ Club Secretary in Jonathan Williams who took on Contract Dave’s role when he left . Mind you today is Wednesday, I haven’t looked for a while it could all have changed .

We didn't...have you seen our squad as of today compare to how we finished the season? 30 millions plus will be gone for the striker...leaving 40 millions for a cb, rb, cover left back, central midfield (possibly 2 if gueye goes), right wing...I know we will end up with a couple of loans but still a lot to do with only 40 millions.
