It's because of a mix of:

1) Transparent money grab of a competition
2) No one cares about this, even fans of the teams playing
3) The players don't want to be there.
4) The time of some of these games is comical
5) Ticket prices are utterly ridiculous

I hope FIFA somehow finds a way to lose money on this
