Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Really solid evaluation. I’m happy for experienced pros who have played at a high level to come in, but does have to be balanced with high potential youth.

Think every one is expecting massive money to be spent this summer, and although I have no doubts we will spend more than we have of recent, not hard lol, I don’t think it will be 150-200m like some fan channels suggest.

Think we’re still fairly restricted by PSR.

Could be that while a budget is there to sign players, Moyes would rather spend the majority on e.g 3 young signings and bring in atopgaps for the other positions.

There really should be enough to spend £150mil but i would expect only £100mil to be spent with some powder dry for next summer.

The Barry and Nusa links are positive at least.

Realistically, the most City would pay him is probably £50k per week, which has would mean we have to make a 36 year old speedster, who is no longer that quick our highest earner. That would truly be madness.

What is that assumption based on?

MEN and Italian media reported that he had agreed a deal at Milan for 4 million euros (£3.2m) a year, which is £61.5k a week, to me that indicates that he already has an agreement in place for City to pay him off or he is prepared to walk away from his City contract if it means he gets playing time.

In 2015, Everton explored a deal for Virgil van Dijk, who was then at Celtic. However, the club found the fee (around £10–13 million) too steep and declined to pursue it further . He went to Southampton.

As they missed out on van Dijk, Everton turned their attention to Michael Keane, then of Burnley. Keane had been a target throughout 2016–17 and became a key defensive priority.

Everton signed Keane on a five-year deal for an initial £25 million (rising to £30 million).

Keep laughing fella.
😂. Those two things are not related. The transfers were two years apart!! You’re keeping me laughing here. Cheers!

The wages are the issue. If we’re looking to buy forwards for big fees then they’ll expect comparatively big wages. We can’t also afford to be giving big wages to the likes of Walker.

If we signed the 1st one we wouldn’t have needed the 2nd one.

Signing Keane set us back years. Comparing him to a serial winner like Walker is quite funny, yes.
