Fixtures

Didn’t say it was a historical trend, said it was a recent one. The PL have continuously began to push for last day title show downs with trophies and cameras at numerous grounds. No one wants to see Liverpool away at Huddersfield if that happened. Last 4 seasons we’ve had a home game first, I’ll predict we may have another one again unless we’ve requested a delay because of the stadium.

Just because you're at home on first day dosen't automatically rule you out for final day. As recently as May 2023 RS finished the season at Southampton.

Depends on where the ground is but I'd guess at the second weekend of the season being the first one at BMD and perhaps that being a Monday night game. Or Sunday afternoon if it's one of the main contenders for the league.

Got a feeling it might be Arsenal first up at BMD.

Predict Everton's first fixture, and whether it's home or away.

First person to correctly guess wins one of our pint glasses.
Someone already put Palace (A) which would have been my guess.... what we can be sure of is that we'll host the first derby, for a fifth year in the past six. Someone's probably playing silly buggers in the fixtures department again.

Grinds my gears how it almost always happens that way - and did 11 seasons on the bounce (2003-2013). Last thing you want is an Anfield derby in your last 6-7 games when a run of form is potentially needed.

Then again, the other way there's a risk of letting the vermin seal a title on blue turf. That must not/cannot happen. Ever.

We're Sunday afternoon then 🤣

Leak doing the rounds (as ever they do) has us at home to Palace opening day, the first Derby at home on Nov 8th, Brighton at home Boxing Day and Wolves at home final day. 99.9% bs especially as one of the Boxing Day fixtures is a Tyne-Wear derby which would be hugely unlikely to happen and both City and United at home the first weekend of 2026

At request of the Chairman, it was not a coincidence.

He wanted as many full ST bought as possible.

Do you have a source for this? It's bugged me for a long time, so would appreciate that. Weird behaviour from Billy Bullshine if so.

Had a suspicion it was to prevent excessive half season ticket sales. But the PL said in 2013 (after the 11th straight Goodison 1st/Anfield 2nd combo) that there was no 'arrangement'.

Still, the PL said it would never punish the fans, so that's probably about as valid a statement as the local smackhead saying he spotted Princess Di at the chippy.

There will be a page somewhere, will see if I can find it.

Its definitely not a wild Internet rumour. Problem with us leaving Goodison, it's just loaded with nostalgia.

But was always wildly known and then the echo dropped it once.
