I don't really see it that way tbh. You could probably assume from some of my posts that I don't like Mykolenko - that wouldn't actually be true. I think he's a really, really capable defensive left back and extremely reliable and I wouldn't want to sell him, but (assuming we all agree that we at the very least need competition for him) what I'd be looking for is someone with the profile to contribute in areas he doesn't give you as much. Tagliafico is a perfectly decent player, but similar sort of profile (albeit a fair bit older). If we don't have the money to stretch to upgrading on Mykolenko this summer, I'd rather we looked at a loan deal for someone more appropriate

Not sure I'd take a loan if we could get Tagliafico on a free. Admittedly, 'free' transfers typically cost in terms of wages...although a former Ajax and Lyon LB wont be on a lot (I'd assume) so I'd expect a 32 year old to be on sub £50k.

For me, it's a no brainer on a 1-2 year deal. Brings experience, competition and quality to the LB position.

I'd rather use a fee towards a more expensive RB who can be the attacking player -- would add balance.

I'd be impressed with Tagliafico.

Yeah was worried about his age as seems like another short term option, but if csn bring in real competition for the lb spot the great.

Yes i think he can mate. Always the risk of him going downhill with age but with Mykolenko, they can of course rotate.
