You are right. So the main ”selling point” Everton have is to increase his wages. He is in the lower end of Villareal wages hierarchy. 18000 €/week if you trust google.

Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham etc can go and take the best players from Holland & Belgium, Italy. Often from historic clubs who constantly play in Europe.

The player knows their wages will be doubled/tripled. That if they play well within a season or two they get to move to a bigger prem team or in some cases real madrid…as we’ve seen recently.

We can’t offer Barry Champs league but we can offer to increase his wages, put him on a bigger stage and if he plays well…likely gets to move to a top 6 club. (Assuming we don’t progress).

No league can compete with the Prem whether thats good or bad is a seperate issue but its true.
