Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all. Cataract surgery went well yesterday. Thanks for all the good wishes. It was a beautiful evening so left the patient at home and headed off to the country dancing festival. Held in the beautiful grounds of a local independent school, the buildings and facilities were quite an eye opener for my state educated granddaughters. No Gay Gordon’s or Strip the Willow on the dance programme but there was one called The Leaving of Liverpool.
Just going to remove Mr G’s eye patch and start the drops… the screens, nurse!
Have a good day, all💙

Personally I think that was poor choice of words " quite an eye opener " given Mr G's state

The night is never the same for me without a Gay Gordan.

Good to hear Mr G is on the mend and in good hands. No doubt he’ll be stripping the willow in no time.

Cavan for me tomorrow to watch Armagh v Galway. A meaningless game for us but Galway desperately need at least a point. I have made the executive decision to make a day and night out of it and stay over. It’s only an hour away but sure why not.

On this journey tomorrow I believe it’s 4 times I cross the border in about 15 minutes while never turning off the road a single time.

Seeing as it's world gin day it would be rude not to. Cheers everyone. I hope you are all able to enjoy your weekend given all that's going on around us. Everytime you blink something else seems to have happened. 💙💙
Cheers! In solidarity with my hub I’m not drinking at the moment so a zero per cent Guiness it is for me tonight. I’m playing ostrich at the moment in relation to world affairs - I don’t feel very informed but at least my sanity is relatively intact. Have a lovely evening too

Val I've been an ostrich for nearly 4 years now. It's how I've survived. Hope Mr P is doing OK. I really must catch up on this thread.

I bought a load of reduced price blackberries the other day, now nestling in the freezer. They are humongous, about twice the size of the ones I pick in autumn. Anyway, torn between making blackberry gin, which I've done before ; absolutely delicious, just gin blackberries and sugar, or blackberry brandy, made the same way and judging by the photo I saw looks incredible.
