It genuinely flabbergasts me how our fan base lord's absolute dross like McNeil but crucifys players like barkley

Different keane goal but nice that he has assisted so many that you got the wrong one!
 
McNeil scored four and assisted eight goals in 21 matches. That's a very respectable return. Without that knee injury he'd been looking at something like seven goals and 13-14 assists. And he get assists from open play as well. He is a good passer, good vision and works hard. Main issues are lack of pace and total one-footedness.

24/25 - 4 goals and 8 assists.
23/24 - 3 goals and 6 assists.
22/23 - 7 goals and 3 assists.

He's chipping in for 10 of our goals a season. It's not the greatest in the world but it's not nearly as bad as everyone sometimes makes him out to be. He's at least a very good squad player to have for a team where we will be going into next season which is to push for those ECL/EL spots.

Just be shocked if dcl does leqve and he is the replacement, esp whe moyes hasnt been 100% on beto aswell. Can only really see he coming in eith another cf or dcl staying in the chermitti role as 3rd choice
 
McNeil is a decent premier league footballer, what is wrong with some people. DCL going so now we have to find someone else to spew our hatred towards?

We should be thankful he’s stepped up when we’ve needed. It’s not like we could have replaced him financially. He’s massively improved since joining, and he’s still a young player. He will still improve. With better players around him he will improve his output too.

Dwight is and has been a brilliant addition, he will be an important player next season. Is there better out there, of course, it’s not like we have the pull or the money to replace a whole squad in one window.
