Golf 2025 Season…….

…..just watching early stages of US Open, looks a typical set-up for the event with difficult rough off fairways.

Good start for McIlroy, currently -2, just a couple off the lead.

Think it will get progressively harder every day, though it does look like there will be some rain the next few days to keep things soft enough. Might lessen the challenge a bit.

I was there for the practice round yesterday. Rough is very high around the greens and off the fairways - and thick. Fairways are tighter than a lot of public course greens. Some of the undulations on these greens are insane. We've had a ton of rain in the lead up to this event, everything has been able to grow in thick.

The number 1 thing you need to play well here is patience. Rory's round fell apart b/c he compounded errors - I have no idea what he was thinking on 4 and 7 today - you just have to take your medicine out of this rough.

As always for Oakmont, it's in exquisite shape

Any shouts for the US Open other than Scheffler? I'm thinking of trying a couple of outsiders each way in Sam Burns and Harris English both at 66/1.

Oakmont is a beast of a course and they usually grow the rough and speed up the greens for the US Open so i can only see a winning score in single digits under par.

And once again its fallen lucky for me to watch, 5 days off work after i finish today at Midday and the other half is in work for all of them :D:pint2:
Looking good so far. Good luck.

Leaderboard reminds me a bit of the final table of a big poker tournament, you know everyone’s good but you only recognize one guy and maybe you’ve heard one or two more names.

Be amazing if Scheffler comes up with 65 and psychs everyone else out to win.

I backed Sam Burns £1 each-way at 66/1. Cash-out at £31 currently but I’ll be letting that ride.

The smaller-priced players I backed have disappointed, Aberg (missed cut) and Morikawa (+8). It’s looked brutal out there for some.

My lad had Griffin and English. I had Lowry.

If I had to back anyone today, I think the winner will be Scott. That was a real enjoyable watch yesterday with Hovland and Scott and I was really impressed with Scott's game, he had the bit right between his teeth.

I'll be cheering for Hovland but will have a keen eye on Scott.

I fancy Scott to win it. I can't believe he's only 44 as he's been around so long. He's won me money before but I can't remember when it was.
