New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Anyone else seeing the Allianz Arena all lit up the last two weeks for the CL and European Nations League finals feel the club have missed a trick with the lighting at the new stadium?

There really should have been more of an effort to install materials into the roof that'd have allowed for that.

Just walked past again and to be fair, all seems like its clearing up.

Funny story is i was getting a quick video of the buildings opposite of what looks like being worked on a fan hall and maybe another bar or something. 2 fella's come legging it out yelling at me asking 'what are you taking pictures of''

I'm guessing working a little cash in hand
🤣

Why didnt you tell them what to do beforehand? 🤷‍♂️

I'm assuming at this stage there isn't going to be much change if any to the lighting.

I think the "hob" lighting along the barrel cladding is awful myself. The effect along the south stand looks absolutely brilliant. They don't seem to be able to replicate it. The steps on the Western Terrace look great as well at night when illuminated.

They have missed a trick. Things will look good when the branding is added and the plaza lighting is used - but on such a wonderful stadium the barrel lighting just looks a bit out of place in my view. I thought they both could and would have done better. Maybe there is still time.

My thoughts entirely mate.

I think I read that the materials used on the roof doesn't allow for the kind of spectacular lighting we'd wish for.

Get close to that stadium during the day and it doesn't look so nice.

We were never going to be able to light up an UNESCO site in that way. If we were starting now, then perhaps it would have been different. We'd still have faced issues with that's people's apartments close by, the flight path etc.

The Allianz is out in the middle of nowhere so it doesn't have those issues to think about.

Haha *Former UNESCO site..

Hopefully they change their minds on it now with the Brilliant job they've done. Doesn't look out of place to me.

If anything it adds to thr aesthetic given theres a white metal clad sewage processing plant next to it which i'd of thought makes more of an impact

Absolutely baffling to me that so many of our fans seem to have surrendered the literal name of the city to our rival football club. They don’t own the name of the city. Everton is a football club from the city of Liverpool. The stadium is in Liverpool.
Exactly, does anyone think Juventus would be fretting if it said TORINO on their half way line ?
