I’ve no problem with anyone playing and if I was manager I’d have probably rotated Pickford for the reason you suggest .

However since the weekend we’ve had a slew of articles and comment pieces having a go at the keeper and talking up his rivals . Tonight we’ve had commentary suggesting he’s been No1 due to injuries and somehow Dixon talk up Henderson as a positive from tonight’s performance.

I’ve no issue with Pickford getting rotated out , I have got an issue with the apparent agenda against him in a fair bit of the media .

Exactly this….

Clear agenda and has been for some time.

Simple fact is that he is the best English keeper and should be englands number 1 (European football or not).

And arguably one of the top England goalkeepers of all time.

We all had our reservations 5+ years ago, but these last 5 years for both Everton and England he has been class.

Trafford will be next if he moves to the Geordies, the media and fans of other keepers moan about them not getting chances but tonight has again shown why, with JP in goal that goes from a 3-1 defeat to a laboured and lucky 1-0 win and it’s not even close

Henderson is 28 and been crap his whole career, very weird to imagine anyone genuinely thinks he should be playing for England.

Did Henderson save anything? Pickford is safe as houses in that goal. Won’t be long before the media go back to championing Ramsdale and Butland again over him.
