In reality, while Pickford is here Harry Tyrer isn't going to challenge him, so while he's made a steady progression up the leagues, i'd look to loan him out again and hope he proves himself like he has, could eventually lead to £8-10m for him

Was Youssef Chermiti properly scouted? The player had hardly played any football before we went in for him. Has a slight whiff of one of those dodgy Martínez-esque signings. Enigma. I remember at the time, journalists were quite surprised we went in for him, describing him as very raw and more of a youth team player, etc. Strange.
I don't get this one.

Most teams would have scouted him in some capacity. After all, he was the preferred number 9 in Amorim's Sporting team for half a season as an 18 year old. Not very good, but the team wasn't great and he was still young and very raw.

He was never going to sign for Everton and be an option from day 1. Not with a manager that had hoofing long balls towards an isolated striker as plan A, B and C. He needed som time to get to used to the league while putting on some muscle. But it should not be forgotten that he at the end of his first season was picked on merit and fully deserved ahead of Beto. Chermiti also looked ten times the player Beto did in preseason last summer before picking up his bad injury.

Moyes doesn't seem to rate him, but that is on Moyes. He has always been clueless when it comes to strikers. Minimum 15 out of 20 managers in the league would play Chermiti over Beto.

He started 9 league games in Portugal - he started and finished the season on the bench. ‘Preferred number 9 for half a season..’ I think not.

He’s shown nothing at Prem level at all yet. (Neither has Amorim btw)

Think for the lads sake we need to get him a loan don't we.
He's missed a fair bit of time with injury and guessing we will be signing a new centre forward plus Beto's upturn in form, he'll be starting the season in 3rd position. Although we would need to fill his squad place somehow. Even if its an old Antonio or something just making up the numbers
But as an asset, we need to get him out htere
