Other Clubs Transfer Window 2025-2026.

I think Brentford are a bit different to the others mate, but its the same premise.

You look at how long there players stick around for, they tend to get 4 or 5 seasons out of them before they reluctantly sell.
Whenever they sign a player it tends to be with the first priority to be a footballer to help Brentford push on as a football team rather than an investment.
When they sign a player it tends to be to drop right into the team

Wonder if that might change with Frank leaving
Thats the big question mark with Brentford. How much is Frank responsible for there? And how well equipped are they to deal with his departure. Can another manager drop in there seamlessly and maintain their performance in recent years?

It will be interesting to find out.

Yeah agreed.

I like how they have gone about things more than others, its probably been a slower process and a more steady process, but i think its more sustainible and more aimed at the football side of things compared to Brighton.
Call me a dinosaur, but i like clubs buying players to play in the team, Brentford have done that.

As for Frank, he was clever enough to adjust the way Brentford played from a super attacking way in the Championship to a more strength and power based play to get through those early Prem seasons. So its not as if he's an Amorin, Potter or Di Zerbi who had one way of playing and cant pull away from that, i wonder if who they get in can be as adaptable as that

Its amazing how many just buy the players just so others cant have them, with no actual plan of how they want to use them or if there system actually suits the player.
I actually think Kerkez & Huijsen will do well and slot in at both the Reds & Madrid (Liverpool tend to actually do there homework before they buy a player)

But when Chelsea went for Huijsen, there was no actual plan, they just saw a release clause

You're right about Liverpool sadly enough, Nunez, Caroll apart they very rarely make mistakes, but they do pay top dollar, no matter what they like everyone to think. I'm pretty certain half of Chelsea's buys are just investments for future sell on / loan profit and to a certain extent to stop others buying them as well. It annoys me no end that these and a few others purses are practically limitless and none of them seem to be accountable to anyone.

They’ve made loads of mistakes but the difference is they have unlimited money just like United City Arsenal and Chelsea.

even under FSG we’ve seen Carrol, Downing, Adam, Borini, Balotelli, Benteke, Joe Allen, Lazar Markovic, Grujic, Clyne, Ings, Karius, Klavan, Oxlade Chamberlain, Keita, Minamino, Van den Berg, Adrian, Kabak, Davies, Carvalho, Ramsay,

It’s a complete myth that these clubs recruit well. Every single player on the planet wants to join them, their price tags are no issue whatsoever, their strike rate should be extremely high but instead they just horde as many players as possible in the hope non slip through the net to a lower down team that might challenge them. Then they just slough off their chaff at massive losses every season without any recriminations.

The rich never lose at their own game.

Insane signing, they need a striker not another winger forced into the striking positions. When will he learn.

I see that side of the coin, too. I was more thinking along the lines that he's a dramatic upgrade on Martinelli and could ease the burden on Saka? But yeah, a striker is needed.

They have Balogun, Jesus, Nketiah, Havertz? could be in that role but is unreliable. Martinelli, its unclear just how many of these are actual strikers at this point tbh, i've seen Havertz and Martinelli interchage, so you may be right.

Havertz is better playing in the pockets for me. Jesus is never fit for two minutes. Nketiah and Balogun are nowhere near good enough for their aspirations. Perhaps we're talking about "old fashioned target men" who stay as close to the box as they can uring possession? The last player they had that was like that was Giroud. If they had prime Giroud last season...

Seeing alot of deals between Forest & Textor owned clubs the last week or so

Matt Turner (Forest) going to Lyon for £8m

Igor Jesus, Cunha & Cuiabano all leaving Botofago to go to Forest for £30m

Texor trying to push Cerki going to Forest

Last year Forest sold Niahkate & Managala to Lyon for £50m

Danilo linked with a £20m move to Lyon

I think there is more but cant think off the top of my head

All a little seedy really, and with these things Kia Joorabchian cannot be to far away

Joorbchian's Amo's racing stable involves Forests Evangelos Marinakis

Obviously Joorabchian has a big sway over in Brazil, so im presuming his paths have crossed with Textor at some point and i wouldn't be surprised if he was the one pushing Moshiri to sell to Textor

Quite funny considering Forest have written to UEFA to question Palace competing in the UEL.

I'm going down a massive rabbit hole here, but judging by him having Moshiri's ear for his time at Everton, it looks like once Moshiri got bored of us and Joorabchian realized we had no money to spend started to sell he moved on to the Greek guy at Forest.
To be honest, i wouldn't be to surprised if with the Textor links Mangala & O'Brian were not Thelwell moves but Joorabchian
