Do terrible strikers score the 3rd most goals for a team in the PL?

Nah, this argument just doesn't wash for me afraid, I've easily seen more than 2 strikers who have outperformed him, or at least matched him, during that time period, they just didn't stick around as long. I'll stick my neck on the line and name Saha, Yakubu, Campbell, Rooney, Johnson, Beardsley, Cottee and Radzinski as all outperforming or matching him. Like I said, sticking my neck on the line there, as there's 1 or 2 names where I can't remember their exact goal record, so feel free to disagree with any.

Feel a bit sad about it and not really sure why, I think based on another big injury this year it's the right decision
Same
Injuries seem to have settled down a bit more tbf
He enjoyed Carlo playing to his strengths with some creativity in the team
Benitez then playing him with the broken toe and selling off all the creativity in the team was the beginning of the downward slope
Eventually has a year and a half of having a ball leathered at his head 30 yards from goal over and over again and must've thought, I'm off.
Can't blame him for that.
Would've liked to see how he'd do under Moyes with a bit more attacking intent but we move on and wish him the best

Beto has made you look like a mug mate as he’s much more of a goal threat than Dom, more physical too. You are in a tiny minority that would start Dom ahead of him.
Nar, Beto played under Moyes who actually did football management, Beto is weapons grade garbo and if hes starting games next season then god help us.

Im not even arsed DCL is leaving, as long as we replace him, something that we havent done for the last 9 years.

To add to this, since I've just gone down the rabbit hole with it...

Nunez was the most wasteful player in the league in 22/23, Calvert-Lewin was 2nd behind him

Nunez was the most wasteful player in the league in 23/24, Dom was again 2nd behind him

This season Dom overtook Nunez as the most wasteful player in the league (possibly because Nunez played half the number of minutes)

This is a player who, over a prolonged period, has been in the top/bottom two for worst finishers in the division.

I actually like the lad, but if goals are our problem and we don't have players currently able to give him tap-ins in the 6 yard box, I think we are better off parting ways, especially given the money he earns.
It’s why the ‘he gets no service’ or the ‘how’s he supposed to score playing Dycheball’ arguments get no credence from me. Chris Wood hit double figures almost every season under Dyche in a far worse Burnley team - yes we didn’t supply him with buckets of chances but he still missed absolutely chronic sitters on a regular basis.

Simply put, he’s just not good enough, and whilst it’s not his fault, you can almost track our decline as a top 7 club with him becoming our go to striker. In the first Moyes era, he would have only had an Anichebe type role. It’s a testament to our collapse under Moshiri that DCL was effectively unchallenged for a nearly a decade as our starting striker.

All that said, he’s repaid his £1.5m transfer fee many, many times over and he should go with the best wishes of every fan.

Beto is better than DCL simply because his hamstring doesn’t blow out every time he breaks into a light jog. The fact he is superior at virtually every other aspect of being a striker is merely coincidental.

I'm acting like one of them ITK tossers but back in April, he was staying. Ditched Wasserman and started the PR about who wouldnt want to be part of new Everton. His old fella – who used to tell him as a kid to go in and do players in wanted him gone. Sheff Utd of all teams if they got promoted on a bumper deal. There’s a few offers from clubs here, but his misses fancies life abroad. His misses will get what she wants. The club did want him to stay. Offered him a new deal – not quite what he was after money-wise, but there were some decent incentives in it.

Chris Wood held the highest conversion rate in Europe for most of the season, might've finished with it, higher than Haaland and Salah etc
Dom's worst seasons were under Dyche, there is no denying it

Such a shame, the amount of talent the guy had was unreal, those hammy's just couldn't keep up.

He should go Leicester, he'll get goals in the Champ if he can stay fit.
