Transfer Rumour Jack Grealish

For me we need to start picking players on the way up not giving a home for those on the way down.
.
While I agree with everyone who thinks we'd need to be highly cautious with this (in the unlikely event that it's a goer), but if Moyes himself wanted it, then I'd back his judgement. As well as signing over the hill duds in the past, we've also signed players ostensibly on their way down, who got right back to 90-95% of their peak. Sometimes players can be on a roller coaster, with an up following a down in the right circumstances.

I'd quite like Grealish. He matured nicely for Villa and ran games for them. Pep perhaps didn't get full value from him. My worry is that, as with Sterling, City being happy to let him go might be a red flag that that he really isn't the player he was. Sterling's drop off is notable.

Would be a Coup for you guys, he's still got bags and bags of talent.

If Moyes could get his motivation back he could be a shrewd signing, or of course it could go the way of Delli Alli.

If he asks for reasonable wage demands I think you should take the chance, especially on loan.
Grealish isn’t comparable to Alli. He was never at Grealish’s level. Grealish has skill, vision and terrific dribbling skills. He’s reasonably unique in today’s game of pure athletes.

If it was a choice of;

A: Paying £10mil for a season of Grealish

OR

B: £10mil towards signing Tyler Dibling

I'm taking option B every single time.

However, in isolation its a no brainer.

Southampton want £100m for Dibling, that’s why nobody is going near him.

All about risk and reward.

Does Grealish improve the players around him?

Does Grealish positively affect our league position?

Does Grealish improve our media standing and attract more attention for games to be shown on TV?

Yes-but to what extent?

Yes-but by how much?

No-I don't think he is that big a name to draw people in on reputation alone.

He's a risky signing, like you've said; risk Vs reward. If they can get a tune out of him in a freer counter attacking system Vs Peps tiki taka then he could be lethal. But there's also a real risk he could be an expensive lame duck too. I'm just glad I'm not the one making the decision- I think he will have better suitors than us anyway honestly.

You're a pair of filthy animals, yer know that, lads?! 😂

He's no Declan Rice though, mate...

I think Jack's more of a Tet's player, plus Pep would sell him to his old amigo for a reasonable price.
Rice is a Moyes player, through and through. You should send him our way. ;)
I'll go to war for Declan rice mate, the day he leaves we're finished as an institution

You mean you'd be cooked, as in 'overcooked' if the Rice left?! 😜

You know what, if he's willing to take a huge pay cut and be a team player, then why the hell not?!?

We've got nothing to lose.

You must be joking. Grealish has never had seasons like Deli did at Spurs. People thought he was genuinely a generational player when he was early twenties. I don't really remember ever seeing Grealish beat a man or play a key pass. He does win free kicks though.

Have you ever seen him play? As much as Dele was a hyped player he never did the things or scored goals like Grealish did on a regular basis. Dele scored like one volley for spurs which was decent.

Watch this (from over 3 years ago) and rethink.
