New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Little mooch around new stadium
Few things of note..

Don’t think any of the 3 bars on Regent Road will be open in time for season.

Marquee base almost installed at Terrys Timber.

All roadworks and cycle lanes completed outside stadium.View attachment 311737View attachment 311738View attachment 311739
With the amount spent on those cycle tracks that run past the stadium, has there been anywhere set aside where you could securely park your bike if you decide to cycle to the match, or was the cycle lane put in for folks to just cycle past the stadium?

On the test event there was bike racks at the back of the main concourse. But I don’t know if these will be set aside for staff or fans.

One of the things I liked about the last test event is that while the stadium is obviosusly better facilities wise, the overall industrial feel in the GA section left you in no doubt you're there to watch the footy first and foremost.

Obviously that'll be different in the hospitality areas. Can't wait to do a proper tour.
I think the upgraded facilities will change the atmosphere we are used to - thousands more will be disappearing before HT and arriving back late and the transport issues will mean mass early exoduses before FT and that'll just be when we're winning !

Cycle lane has been there for a few years and goes about a mile either side of the stadium.
A bit weird though because instead of going the whole length of the dock road it just stops in the middle of nowhere so then you have to take your chances with big arse wagons.

I think you're right about half time, personally after the match I think I'll just sit there for 10/15 minutes until the crowd disappears and then make my way out, couldn't be arsed with what will be a tight squeeze getting 53000 out of those few gates on the dock road.

Cycle lane was meant to be blue! The council must have changed the specification during the technical approval process. Pity.

Exactly. The 1.6bn red Rotherham got could have been used to provide another station at Vauxhall. The glorified bendy busses will be about 10% of that budget
