Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Mika Biereth currently on as sub for Denmark Vs Northern Ireland would be an interesting forward option. I'd rather go for potential than experienced but average. Albert Gudmundsson who was linked yesterday and previously is very average imo and is 28 soon.

Thierno Barry does seem a decent option too but maybe at the upper end of what we could afford in a single signing.

Looks very Lukakuesque to me.
I like the look of him in the limited footage I've seen.

On an upwards curve for the past 2/3 seasons and Progressing all the time.
This is the type of signing we should be making.
The price ? Circa £33mil
That is pretty much right for a lad like this , would worth a whole lot more in a year or 2.

Welcome Big Bad Baz the Blue.

Agree. People saying he’s not worth a 33m buy out clause because he was brought for 15m last year doesn’t make a lot of sense. The fee for Doak is also rumoured to be around the 30m mark. You’re paying for potential, not the finished product. We paid what some called over the odds for Onana. He didn’t pull up any trees here and we ended up making a profit. These are the type of signings we should be aiming for.

Would've been nice to have identified him 12 months ago when he was a quarter of the price but hey ho. Looks 2 footed and got good instincts.
Agree with your sentiment, but my only question about that, is whether he’d have turned into the player he has become (whatever player that is as I’ve not seen him) if he’d come to us 12 months ago. I do question sometimes whether we’ve bought poorly, or whether our buys have been ok but we’ve just not developed them the way we should have done. That of course will be the responsibility of the management and coaching team in place.
