Looking to book a family hol in July or August possibly in Turkey. Have two teenagers and a six year old so looking for (one of the many) hotel's that have sports (astro pitch ideally) and water slides. Has to be within half hour of airport.... . Quick look and Lara Beach area looks to fit the bill in terms of locality.
recommendations gratefully received.

Looking at the same myself for next April/May and seen Lara Beach but two friends have recently brought families out to the Titanic Hotel and raved about it so we are looking at that now instead although our kids are much younger.

Looks very nice, prices a little punchy for July August

As an American who has never visited Europe.

what's a European gem of a country that one would recommend for a 2 day visit? of course everyone wants to visit Italy, France, Spain, England etc

I've always wondered how Estonia, Slovenia or Luxembourg are like.

Albania. People are the best I’ve ever met but 2 days wouldn’t do it justice as there’s everything you need, from beaches to mountains, history and still relatively cheap compared to the mainstream European countries.

I'd go for Switzerland for a culture shock. Classic 'lakes and mountains' next door to each other (although of course there is much more to see in the country for a longer stay).

Fly into Geneva
First day: take a boat trip around Lac Leman with the stunning views
Second day: take a tour or train to Zermatt and the Matterhorn

or

Fly into Zurich
First day: view the city tourist sights
Second day: visit Mount Pilatus and Lac Lucerne

From your initial choices, I'd probably go for Estonia.

Luxembourg is a little dull and provincial. Tallinn and Ljubljana are nice and small, I'd recommend both for a 2 day visit. Any of the Baltic states is good or Gdansk in Poland. Romania or Bulgaria, too. I like Belgrade very much. You can't really fail anywhere with a 2 day visit.

For 2 days I'd recommend Vienna, Austria or Budapest, Hungary. It'd be a busy 2 days but you could cram most stuff in.

Off to Belfast with Mrs Purchase, 3 nights and booked for the Titanic museum, which has had good reviews.

Has anyone done the Falls& Shankill black taxi tours?

I am tempted, but a bit uneasy about 'troubles' voyeurism.

What do Irish Toffee's feel about this.

Bulgaria you'll live like a king on about €30 a day, eating out and drinking beer, go to Varna It's on the black sea and cheaper than other Cities.
