Transfer Rumour Jack Grealish

I agree with you in the main, yet Kendall excelled bringing in players on their way down such as Gray or Powers. I think it is purely down to luck whether it works out or not. But that applies to every single transfer.
Totally right it's all about the players character and Gray, Reid and Power had character in abundance

50/50 on this.

On one hand I think he could potentially fit into a Moyes team. Alcaraz, I believe could drop a little deeper. With Grealish playing in behind the striker. He could also come in from the left or right, maybe even switching with Ndiaye. With Alcaraz in the middle, they could all be flexible and give defences problems by not having any static position. Not sure this is totally Moyes, but in theory could work.

On the other hand, I think his attitude will need to be considered. Is he a Moyes hard worker. Yes, we see him partying but none of know whether the day to day work ethic and personality would fit into a Moyes team. That is a sort of unknown really.

Nah, I think the guy is lazy, but that's from the little I've watched of him. Not a battler so it's no from me

It’s because we have limited recourses and he would use a large chunk of them. Would he improve our squad? Yes, of course. But we need to sign players who give us the best value for money. And Grealish doesn’t warrant the obscene wage he would demand. He isn’t that good.

His wage demands would probably (and I’m no finance expert so could be wrong here) be similar to what we paid Lindstrom, Harrison and Broja who between all of them produced 1 goal and 1 assist.

I’d much rather us try and bring in quality over quantity. As I said before, I don’t think we will get him, but people making out that they wouldn’t take him if it was possible need their heads testing.

30 years old, huge wages. One of those guys whose eagerness for training (in the past at least) is catching him fast. No for me.

You don't last 5 years at Man City without looking after yourself

It’s funny to see people turning their noses up at a player of Grealish’s quality, when we’ve had to watch Harrison on the wing for 2 seasons who isn’t fit to lace Grealish’s boots.

We won’t get him cos he’s class and on a lot more money than we can pay him, but he’d be a great signing if we could bring him in.

It’s funny that people think that this is starter considering his wages, I keep hearing that City would pay the majority of his wages……why ?

They will just flog him to someone who will pay more that we will could/should

All the people saying no to Grealish…

We have been in near constant relegation (surviving by the skin of our teeth) not finished in top half for a good 5 seasons…

yet were some how able to be picky on whether we sign the England, 100 million Midfielder

Same ppl saying no…prob want Harrison back because he ‘worked hard & tracked back’

I doubt he comes so its a mute point but the entitlement of some of the fanbase is unreal…its not 1987 lads were poo

I think it’s a dangerous deal for us. We’ve spent years trying to recover from excessive purchases buying a fair few players at the tail end of their career.

If you said he would take £150,000 a week he’d probably want a 3 year deal. Plus any sign on fee and transfer fee. That alone is almost £23.5 million just in wages with likely absolutely no resale value. You’re banking on him being fit for the majority of that time.

Now that isn’t the worst injury record I’ve ever seen but it’s worrying that it’s a lot of groin and calf injuries in the last few years. I’m not a professional athlete but from a person with legs similar to Grealish I’m telling you once they start to go they don’t come back. Last year his record wasn’t that bad but missing 15 games a year in the previous 2 seasons for somebody you’re probably going to build a team around is not a good idea.

I’m not doubting his quality overall I think there’s far smarter ways to invest that money in the squad. I don’t think there’s anything wrong in having older players in your team but having them as your talisman is not a prudent investment.

Do you think we have an unlimited supply of money? We will have a budget to spend on wages. Paying Grealish salary for however will take a big chunk of that. We will not get any money back for him. We already have a more productive, younger, hungrier player who plays in the same position. It would be a dreadful use of our limited resources to get him.

Who the feck thinks that, imo him and Grealish are much the same, token effort to run back but not too fast else it'll upset their hair

You can’t talk about signing Grealish purely on whether or not he’s good at football.

Of course he’s good at football.

But the profile is all wrong. 30, and on eye-watering wages.

Even if we somehow only pay him half his wages, it’s still too much.

We can’t have a huge gorilla on one end of the scales when we’re trying to balance the squad for PSR. It’s not good for the books, and it’s not good for squad morale.

It’s the most Moshiri signing I can imagine.
