Everton Champions 1970

Very lucky
Lucky enough to have watched 37 of the 42 games.

What a joy and privilege to see such wonderful football.
Memories that will never fade. I was still at school then, went to the Saturday game when we beat Chelsea 5-2 ( ( 5-1.?) to all but win the league , but couldn’t scrape enough money together to go to the Wednesday night game when we beat WBA 2-0 to clinch the league. Kendall- Harvey-Ball in their pomp that season, truly magnificent.

Was only 10 at the time but I never knew John Hurst was signed as a striker, the Catt was a brilliant Manager won the league title in 1963 and 1970 with two different teams that he built, as well as a FA Cup in 66 in between. Still remember him selling Alan Ball to Arsenal, his one black mark.

Sure that’s the game we’re Harvey scored a cracking scissor kick goal, brilliant night. That team split up far too soon.

Yes 5-2 Howard kendall scored after few seconds of the game starting

That year has so many great memories, especially the clinching game against WBA. I was eight years old and had bought batteries to listen to the game on the radio it was only the 2nd half was on in those days. That night my dad came home with two tickets for the park end stand. He would always bring that night up as one of his greatest nights, it was also mine. My Dad has since passed away and when I think of him I think of that season and that night!

He was signed at 15 and came through the youth system but yes he started out up front in his younger days.

Was in the boys pen aged 9 against wba...what a night. Was jealous of all the fans on the pitch.
I was in Bullens Rd paddock standing on a beer crate at the front. I had a season ticket. What a season it was. I was right behind Colin Harvey's shot against WBA. He went left then turned right and bent it into the top corner.
Apart from the Sandy Brown game against the [Poor language removed] it was a magical season. Alan Whittles goals towards the end of the season..beating Spurs home and away within a few days. And that Chelsea performance was the best. I think we were 5 up before they scored 2 late consolations.
Magic times..yet ending all far too early
