Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Just back from watching T20 cricket match tonight it was absolutely bloody freezing and I had a t shirt , shirt , sweatshirt and jacket on!

Happily we won!
Perfect weather to watch Simon Reeves in Scandinavia on iPlayer. @blue1948 recommended it recently and I am really enjoying. Snowy arctic scenes will really compound those cold winds we are getting now. Get yourself a hot drink before watching it.

Morning all. Hope things go well for your hubby today @Val P and you mange to get some rest @peteblue . Today marks two weeks of a chest infection for me . I hate this aspect of getting old , something I would have shook off in a few days years ago just gets harder and harder to recover from and affects everything I do. Still , the sun is shining and Mrs bl and I are off to see The Salt Path in the cinema plus a wee bit of lunch later . Have a great day everyone.

Hey everyone, how we diddlin? hope everyone is well.

I've had to speak to me mental health team about the course, my headaches are making it very hard to concentrate so we decided to postpone to a later date after I've been the Dr's.

Anyone else checking everyday for transfers  we need a few in, hoping sooner rather than later for me, bed them in.

Catch you soon.

A blind man could see it is taking it's toll on you Pete .You need more help or a break .Have they not offered such ? One of the saddest things in old age is watching a sick person take others down with them .
I had a handicapped BIL and he took my marriage and two of his sisters to breaking point , his mother died after a stroke .Given hours to live at 13 he lived until 54 with love and attention but at a great cost to others . How is your son facing up to the task surely it is affecting him seeing you like this or do you hide it from him ?
Get a bag and put your pride at the bottom of it put your sensible head on top then go sort it out with the doctors/helpers or whoever it needs to be .

Thanks Blue. My son is doing ok and takes a huge amount of pressure off me. Kay is currently walking around with a pair of bunny ears on top of her head. It’s the odd funny moments that keeps me going……

Good afternoon all. It's freezing here as well. I hope Gary's op has gone well @Val P. Yes,@Terrarian I keep looking for transfers but this only a little window isn't it. However I did read we were trying to sign Danny Cadamateri's son (apologies if that's dodgy spelling). As far as next generations go, I wouldn't mind Super Kev's son Tyrese on the books - he looks decent.
@peteblue please look after yourself too. You must be exhausted.
England are playing a T20 at Durham tomorrow. I am currently regretting my life choices of not getting tickets ( I thought £60 was a bit steep for a T20 - especially if the West Indies bat first. It could be all over in a very short time.) and also my decision not to see Bruce this time round. Such is life, and I fully appreciate they are first world problems.
Im doing a @Barnfred 55 chili tonight.

A brave decision from one of the Armagh players today. One day this will not even be a newsworthy topic.

When i was a boy they used to say 1in 10 men were gay . No figures were released on the fairer sex .Nowadays it seems that was a reasonable figure so there must be many more that don't have the courage yet in public / famous circles .We met the husband of a guy that runs our grocery department today and he knew all about us from Mikko -They are both called Mikko ! What a nice pleasant man he is ,great sense of humour and easy to talk to . I agree we are finding more and more coming out as is their right .

It’s getting easier for people to come out but it’s still quite a step. Where you live is a big consideration, some places being more cosmopolitan than others. A former colleague of mine literally described his childhood as being the only gay in the village (copyright Little Britain 😀).

This is it though was he ? It is a shame that society treats different people in ways for no good reason ,imagine if they found out we were all Evertonians ! There were men in my chilhood days that I was told to beware ,one was a watchman on a roadworks but on a winter's night that was the place to be next to his brazier .Me and my mate went there every night ,the man was a sailor in the war and had nothing but his job ,he taught us how to splice a rope and lots of other things ,never a suggestion he was any more than that .

Good morning all on this fine day ,I hope all are well and had a good night ,especially Garry who jopefully had meds to ease any pain and have a lovely day today .I am back on the roof today as I have suffered a bad back for the last two weeks ,the shame of it !.I lad knocked on the front and asked if we want someone to finish it ! Pride dented and back feeling much better I went up yesterday for a few minutes and will do the same again today . Don't buy a bungalow with moss on the roof . Have a great day all COYB

It’s very frustrating isn’t it, I hope you’re back to tip top soon. There are some nasty chest bugs going around this year.
