Makes sense.

Year ending 30th June 2025 was always going to be tight with negligible extra income from BMD.

I expect to see an increase in transfer activity from July onwards.
Don't how people on here will hold up with no transfer activity for a month.

In all seriousness hopefully they'll use this month to get all the deals in place then soon as July hits...whammo

We need more productivity on generating extra income off the field. One stadium naming rights deal isn't enough.

Moyes has a problem, he has a timing issue due to not enough commercial income flow and getting caught out on holding onto players he shouldn't and missing the boat on players he should buy.

Selling your best talent isn't the answer right now, the commercial arm of the club needs to get going. There is a brand new stadium there with commercial opportunity for sponship all over it plus football shirts.

I agree with your point, but also have [near total] confidence that TFG will deliver the commercial/revenue uplift we need/can reasonably expect to achieve. They are operators. Their business record speaks for itself [little evidence of them making bad commercial decisions], I'm happy with the start they've made to life with regards to their personnel appointments [Moyes, Kinnear, etc., accepting the proof will be in the pudding] and probably most fundamental of all, they want to increase the value of their asset over time.

It will take a year or two, but I see no reason why we aren't a top 8 team again consistently, with the financial power to compete with all in Europe [aside from the Sky 6, PSG, Real, obvs].

The ‘Sky 6’ is a bit old hat now tbh. Newcastle have without question muscled their way in, and Villa are half way through the door. We need to try and get amongst it too.

Dont worry the league is still looking to deal with chelsea and city . On a serious note is pathetic and shows how much a mess the rules have been, has shown what they think of clubs by letting city and chelsea just make them look like clowns. And went after the easy targets, closed the loop for leicester and went back in for them while the other two still get away with it

I agree about Newcastle and Villa muscling their way in but The Sky 6 are still who they are in revenue terms.

Based on the Deloitte report, Chelsea [with the lowest revenues of the 6] generated £170m+ more than Newcastle and £230m+ more than Villa in their last published accounts. That’s a bonkers differential.

This is excellent news for us no? Nothing to stop us now from doing the same and selling goodison/the womens team to ourselves.
If we don't use the women's team and goodison to significantly improve our psr then it is done on purpose so that they can justify low spending this summer. Both women's team and goodison would conservatively worth at least 250 to 300 millions essentially wiping off the bad years from the psr cycle in one go.

they won’t touch chelsea or city

I genuinely hate Chelsea but you have to doff your cap how they have blatantly abused loopholes over the years, before it could have any impact on them. Used to send out around 40 players on loan for yearrrrrs, 8 yr contracts to circumnavigate PSR, selling lemonade items for champagne money such their hotel/women’s team. I’m sure they will find new loopholes to abuse before the prem clamp down. It’s savvy financial management, unlike us who have left ourselves wide open to the Bonnie Blue treatment from Richard Masters & co.
That’s the difference in hiring top class people around the club, we’ve had some kids on a YTS doing an NVQ in Business by comparison.

And £300m for Goodison as an additional transaction hopefully

Really that much? Not disagreeing, I have genuinely no idea what ballpark we could argue is a fair valuation for those kind of deals.

Even 100m would be a gamechanger.

There's a few shouts about doing what Chelsea done with PSR.
Sell Goodison to the ladies team.
I just don't see it.

Firstly you've got to find someone ( TFG ) to stump up that cash , it can't just be magic'd up . It would have to come out of their own pockets .
That's a huge amount and a lot more money to go with the massive buy out they paid for. Wouldn't seem financially wise for them.
They don't seem the type of company to do that. They will probably go the Arsenal route getting revenue through better sponsorships etc.
