Pre season 25/26

Not a fan of us going to America and playing other Premier League sides. I'd like 1st game at Bramley Moore to be against Bayern or Inter Milan not Roma we played them last season. Also I would rather play somebody like Lyon away or Betos away for fans to have European trip. Playing a Championship side is risky, because you could easily been playing against some RS loanee who wants to crock one if our players. When Martinez got a decent pre season in his 1st summer here we started well. We always seem to start season behind everybody else.
We did go to America tbf

tbf if we played Bayern or Inter we'd probably get crucified about 6-0, whereas Roma is a decent test but manageable (I hope)

Playing PL sides in America means it'll be a decent test

You are indeed right. In fact the first Martínez pre season was a training camp in Austria, Accrington and Blackburn away, followed by a tour of America (plus a home game against Betis). Sounds familiar...

If it's in Styria again, even better. That's where my missus' family lives ☺️
Think the farmers' one was in Vorarlberg, if I remember correctly?

We have a very nice training centre just a few kilometres down the road in the Tirol, where the German, Austrian and Dutch national teams (including Johnny Heitinga at the time) have all prepared.

They were in Bad Mitterndorf in 2013, that's what I had in mind

Ironically - I think that was the last time we played in the states as well..

i think the poster is referring to the fact we're playing prem sides rather than teams from anywhere else

football will become one big homogenised blob, playing the same teams over and over

this will expand into a much bigger competition that prem teams, or a select few, play every summer in the US

be like a nations league or this club world cup, glorified friendlies
