New Everton Stadium

I am not sure how many hospitality spaces we will need. Firstly you have the club's own hospitality spaces, which will presumably offer the best experience, then you have the likes of the Howard Kendall suite and that tent over the road from the ground.

Personally, I would rather see a few decent pubs pop up in the vicinity of the ground, as not everyone has money to throw at hospitality spaces - especially when season ticket prices are increasing and may increase further in the future.

I must admit that I think some are overestimating the potential of hospitality spaces such as the Howard Kendall suite.
Well all the hospitality is sold out so there’s certainly demand if they get the price and offering right.
Seems to me they’re pitching somewhere above Trinity and Village Street and aiming more for the Dock On One (or whatever it’s called)
Imo the free ale after the game will lure a few in even if it’s not for everyone, it certainly changes the ‘value for money’ dynamic over free bar before & for 15 mins at ½ time.
Bottom line is, if there a market for it they will do well if there isn’t they won’t.
Personally, I expect the former.

Just in case no one knows, they're just jazzed up bendy buses.

Second rate transport solutions.

They are superior to the old bendy buses. Lower profile, offering more capacity, much quicker boarding/disembarking times etc. At present there is little or no business case for a tram line to serve BMD. The new ultra-lighteight systems might close that business case gap.... but that's yet to be seen. These are the next best thing, and can actually operate better in partial shared transit lanes and dense pedestrian area applications (which is what BMD is), where traditional trams can be notoriously poor due to long stopping distances reducing line speeds to a crawl. So, if these are given proper dedicated lanes and also priority at junctions, they can be as, or more effective than trams..... at a fraction of the cost and with far more flexibility.

I think they've overestimated the amount of people interested in spending big to sit and eat in a shipping container on the edge of a derelict dock.

Say what you will about the Brexit tent across the road, but at least it's not pretending to be something it's not.
Its not a derelict dock though, its used by liverpool canoe/kayak club (FoA) who use it on a weekly basis and supply more than half the mens and womens GB teams.
This impacts them massively, they lose a lot of parking and access to that side of the dock which was used as a viewing area when tournaments are played.
Pity Mr Drone doesnt give them a mention

£10k for a table of 4 - got to have a luxury people carrier and driver!

Nah... ...just moor yer yatch

The other bonus is that they are bi-directional, so they can more easily run shuttle services down the dock road with having no requirement for a turning circle.

What is it with all this Mr Drone bashing? If Noggsy Baz has a problem with him, then that’s his issue.
I met Nick (Mr Drone) on one of my few trips down to the new stadium about 18 months ago, and I chatted to him for about 20 minutes. He was a very polite friendly bloke, and I thanked him for all his hard work he puts in producing video footage for fans like me.
He came across as a very humble guy with no ego.
This is a guy who also has another job and a family, but if he gets recognition for the incredible amount of hard work he does doing his drone stuff, then good luck to him.
Nice work with the vids Nick, not as good as Noggsys mind.
Sorry to hear about you getting pinched for flying too high.

My scepticism comes from how many of these spaces there are on offer, compared to cheaper spaces for the average supporter from the terraces. As for the Howard Kendall Suite, I can't see that space being a permanent installation as it doesn't have the appearance of a permanent installation - I predict that it will be replaced within five years.

There is undoubtedly demand for hospitality spaces, but how much demand is there for these spaces outside of the club's offering? I just think that some might be overestimating it, since we clearly are not the wealthiest of fanbases.

Hey, I had a thought a while back about uses for the stadium outside of football & wondered what could be done with our water channel. Could it work as a venue for the canoe/kayak club? I know nothing about what is needed in terms of space needed (would the pitch fit?), water level compared to dock walls, flow rate of water through the channel etc etc but I did think with all the steps it could make a nice viewing area for competition. Broadcast, toilet & food facilities are there plus space for parking & temporary storage. I'm not suggesting a permanent venue but an available space for peak events.
Have I done a thing? Or do I need a slap?

The 'Flow' through the channel is relatively slow and passive. Its only there to allow water to pass between docks so that water movement can be maintained.

Well theres 3 "pitches" so i dont think its suitable tbh

Bloody hell everyone is thinking too hard about this.

Let’s just call it ‘NEW PLACE TO DRINK BUT TO BE CLEAR THIS NAME HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GOODISON, OR ANYTHING, AT ALL, AND IS ORGANIC TO THE FANS (OR NOT, DEPENDING UPON YOUR PREFERENCE). JUST SPEND MONEY HERE, PLEASE. KTHXBYE.”

Nobody could be offended by that.
If it was called that the sign writer would definitely make a typo.
