Any money spent on BMD transport links will be token at best:

- More railings at Sandhills
- A couple of extra buses

Anyone else think it's a bit off naming a boozer after an alcoholic? Or have I gone full Davek pearl clutching?

My own view is that what is a commercial venture shouldn't be named after anyone (unless it's the owner / family of course), and should just have another name or brand. As it is it's implying an association with the person and club.

By the way, that announcement by Reeves today will be a big puff headline full of promises of dates of completion. The Green Book Review will be published next week though and the devil will be in the detail there. Full of caveats no doubt.

This is just a bit of politics by the Red Tory government to shore up voters deserting them again in so called Red Wall seats. Most of it wont happen. Rotheram will be able to crow about it but this will be pie in the sky and easy to drop with any economic headwinds coming this country's way.

Bet it’s significantly cheaper than a comparable package in the stadium itself for a 3 course meal and free drinks (if the food lives up to its billing)

Between that and the parking spaces think it will be a roaring success regardless of it being a prefab construction - only thing that would scupper it is themselves if the meals end up being hot dogs and cold pies served with warm flat ale (although that might appeal to the traditionalists who miss GP)
