New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

49000 and Dan Meiss said it wasnt going any higher....keep pple danging...well as an Evertonian I dun accept it....hence my post
lol I was at one of the early meetings. Dan Meis was getting so many questions about why the capacity was stuck quite low on 52,000, I think they got fed up and then shortly after, out of the blue, threw in it can be upgraded to 60,000 (without any here's how) just to shut people up. Personally I think the capacity can be raised slightly by having standing areas but that applies to all our rivals to so we can't ever catch up with them.

Can you verify that you where in a meeting with DM?

Personally not bothered in the slightest about 52k Vs 60k+. The only way we'll become a big club again is via winning things. The 8k difference in gate money won't be a game-changer.

The main thing is the hugely increased number of corporate options at the ground.

Now if we add some level of success onto that we'll get better sponsorships deals. But we haven't won a thing in 30 years, so a lot of people need to hold their horses here.

Let's enjoy the new place and just hope for incremental improvement first. I'm sure two top-half finishes and a few cup runs in the next two seasons would be deemed a success by most fans, especially if we were able to challenge for a place in one of the European trophies: if we got into the crappy Conference League no reason at all why we wouldn't win the thing as it's such a woeful competition, yet could at least be a kickstarter for us.

Good to see the pitch in a fine state.

Nothing much else to say - no Everton branding, increased level of external scaffolding, internal work in progress (shop just a concrete shell).

Hopefully we will see a ramp up of activity before the next test event.

It says 62k here:

I'm sure I've read elsewhere that the way the stadium was constructed on the docks, it is possible to go higher.
I'd need to go back to have a look so I maybe completely wrong here but I'm wondering if the roof structure is not attached to the stand.

If so it could mean that if we expanded we could add new rows of seats to the back of the East, Gordon West, and Southall stands without having to mess around with the roof.

I have been critical of the distance of the roof from the stand as it is far too high but if the reason for the high height is to allow for expansion then I'll understand.

It is visually nice from the outside so adding a tier here and there would slightly ruin its external appearance

Interesting the article says 62000 'seats'

I saw an interview with Dan Meis, and to me, it sounded like the way he described the building of the structure, it shouldn't be too hard to add tiers, or to even completely adjust parts of the stadium.

Lol, I'm no architect, but that's what it sounded like. 🤷‍♂️

The exposed concrete has got to be covered up. I assumed much of that would be done through digital advertising strips, but the rest needs a proper paint: far too industrial for my liking.
