2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

Sensible signing. Welcome to Everton (again) Carlos
No last minute Indiana Jones hat under the door deal-sheet-fax-machine-shenanigans it took Kev to get this one partially done in January, but well done to him for ripping up his list when Moyes arrived.
Thanks Kev
X.

I see he has captain Picard to help beam people up to Scotty land now and has a choice of a Martian or the son of someone Spocky eyebrowed as manager to keep him busy 😜

I just hope they aren't stuck in a cave.

I suspect there was a dispute between his club and agent mate.

I’d say what happened here is his wage was baked into the deal 30/40k, which he could better elsewhere now.

So while the two clubs and player, probably agreed the obligation and option fee and wages - the length of the contract maybe wasn’t.

The two year deal strikes me as an agent, agreeing to the minimum wage first 5e miniumum amount of time - who, ekerping in the perimeters of the original deal.

Paddy Boyland has confirmed we’ve an option.
I was thinking along similar lines with the third year option being for materially higher wages i.e. gets a good bump if he's proved he's worth it or can find another deal and signing on fee elsewhere.

Put it this way: if he turns out to be a bad player, it'll only take us 2 years to escape from Alcaraz.

I'll get my coat.
Problem is if turns out a top player, we'll have to sell probably next summer...2 year, even if we have an extra year optional is a poor deal especially having paid 12 millions...from a psr perspective is a horrible deal.

My money is on the delay was down to who pays the £590k FIFA solidarity payment payment to his previous club Racing of Brazil, for training him
We paid it in the end.

Was £12.5M, with add-ons up to £15M
