2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Just for the reason of debate;

If he still had a couple of years on his contract how much would we want for him?
If he played for another club. What would we be willing to pay for him?

I’d argue he’s worth upwards of £10m. £100k a week for 2 years = £10m
But that's just it; I wouldn't want to buy him from another club and I wouldn't want to sign him on a free either. He's a striker that can't stay fit and can't score goals when he is.

Think a lot of sentiment at the moment is driven from fans expecting he'll leave.

Personally, I hope Moyes can convince him to stay.
When he got booed off after injuring himself trying to score I think that was a big nail in the coffin for him.

I don’t think he’s as bad a finisher as people make out (see his goal at the start of moyes tenure)

He just seems desperate to score and it’s causing rash shots. I’ll echo what someone else said - maybe he needs to see the guy Pickford saw

Building a more successful future with this guy as the main number 9 is a complete contradiction in itself. If we are going to keep him as a squad player to bring on now and again and then bring in a proper consistent goal scorer then fair enough but I will be very disappointed if he is the main striker in August.

….a little surprised a move elsewhere is not being leaked, I’d have thought he’d have one well lined up by now.

...maybe there's no bites? Well, not as many as Dom/his representatives were anticipating anyway. I can't blame other clubs for doing the maths regarding his alleged wage demands vs. his ability. It's what we should have been doing for years.

There's quite clearly no bites given he sacked his agent and came crawling back to us. He and his team gambled on having a good season and massive offers coming in. Not only did he have a bad season, but all his injury problems have now reappeared.

…I think it’s his fragility more than his lack of quality. Once those big thigh muscles start to seriously ping, it usually impacts the rest of your playing days and the club should’ve taken that into consideration.

It’s the reason I’m a little concerned about Tarkowski, the fact he needed an operation indicates his was significantly worst than a ‘pull’.

Not heard this big muscles thing before from you 😆 😂

Wasn’t it the thigh muscles for that Doak lad too? 🥴

He's just not that attractive to other clubs.

He's been one of the great modern myths of Everton.
Had his moments. I was an ardent supporter for a long time, always thought that he'd replicate that purple patch under Ancelotti. Sadly never came. Think he's an alright player when the game is based around his strengths. Ultimately quite limited in today's game though. His finishing for a professional striker is woeful. Think that's why there so much animosity toward him. Beto, for all his limitations is a trier, DCL seems apathetic mostly.
